Augmented reality is the technology that adds a new digital layer to the reality and blends out the line between the real and the digital world. Also, it gives people the opportunity to be more actively involved. This technology has created a great impact in a variety of industries and potentially changed the way enterprises do business, increasing productivity internally and reducing overall expenses. Augmented reality uses various technologies in rendering, including optical projection systems, monitors, handheld devices, and display systems worn on the human body.
An augmented reality headset is a technoscientific, head-mounted display device that presents a simulated visual environment through natural display optic lenses. It allows the user to see a digital display and the world through the glasses. The lenses are made up of transparent LCD or other display mechanisms. A built-in microprocessor and storage are present in those headsets. AR headsets will lose weight and look cooler resembling the contact lenses. Augmented reality can be used in education, health, and construction.

Microsoft Hololens is the first holographic computer running Windows 10. It is self-contained with no wires, phones, or connection to a PC needed. Hololens can understand gestures and map the world around in real time. It allows us to create and shape holograms, communicate with apps using voice, and navigate. It understands all gestures, gaze, and voice, enabling us to interact essentially. The spatial sound in the Hololens synthesizes sound that allows us to hear holograms from anywhere in a room. Advanced sensors are present to capture information about the environment around us, and the built-in camera enables us to record HD pictures and video of the holograms in the world around us.
Virtual reality is the technology, which is software-generated, recreates a certain situation or environment in such a manner that one can feel like it is a reality. Virtual reality detaches people completely from their current and real environment and puts them in a completely new ‘digital’ environment through technology. Even though virtual reality is currently rising, it has existed for a long time. This technology has become advanced, and the hardware is more affordable. VR and AR will definitely become important in many industries enabling business to evolve and provide better customer experiences.
