Thank you for Subscribing to CIO Applications Weekly Brief
In an interview with CIO Applications, Alan Gin, President & CEO of ZeroDown Software, shares his insights into the company, the unique value proposition, and innovative business continuity solutions it offers.
What were the factors that spurred the conception of ZeroDown Software?
The business continuity of numerous organizations is hindered due to the limitations of widely used single‐vendor implementations. ZeroDown was built to tackle this impediment with self-developed and patented Always Available™ technology and architecture that enables real multi-vendor business continuity and assurance. We take pride in delivering the peace of mind that CIOs and CTOs around the world desire, by keeping businesses up-and-running at a fraction of the cost of traditional disaster recovery and high availability systems.
What are trends and challenges brewing in regard to cloud migration, and how does ZeroDown Software align its solutions with these trends?
Cloud adoption is a trend that all business verticals—from SMBs to large enterprises—including Telcos, MSPs, CSPs, and their customers strive to embrace. However, organizations fight an uphill battle to migrate their workloads onto the cloud—either public or hybrid—without disrupting their businesses. ZeroDown Software is ideally positioned to deliver the clarity, flexibility and business assurance that these organizations need to accelerate their cloud journey. Our solution eliminates downtime risks inherent in typical cloud migration solutions and serves as a true, managed business continuity solution to bridge Microsoft Azure Stack, and Amazon Web Services (AWS), to Oracle or Google Cloud. ZeroDown provides full business assurance with minimized risk of vendor lock-in by enabling clients to migrate their workloads and critical applications onto another cloud service provider, without any transaction loss or system/application downtime.
Kindly shed some light on your service delivery methodology, and how it sets you apart from the competition.
We are uniquely positioned to support businesses in mixed cloud environments with full end-to-end security, business continuity, and guarantee uninterrupted functioning of applications and workloads. All application instances are ‘hot and active’—equally and simultaneously available—across multiple locations in real-time, and will continue to function without customer impacts or operational disruptions despite an instance failure. Since live transactions and data are constantly synched, applications can be rolled back to any available site, providing an optimal failover or failback solution at the transaction level for hybrid IT or multi-cloud deployments. Our patented technology embodies a new business continuity standard ideally suited to accelerate digital transformation in today’s cloud-enabled world: virtually 100 percent uptime on any platform, anytime.
How do you help your clients achieve this digital transformation?
Digital transformation is beyond simply moving to a new environment in the real world as a customer’s migration to the cloud is driven by the modernization of apps and infrastructure. It is sheer delight for the technical experts to run the first proof of concept and discover what is possible. With the help of our technology, clients can pin up a safety net for all environments to build out more resilient solutions for CI/CD continuous integration and delivery. The clients can also maintain data consistency during the test and deploy and rapid re-synch across platforms, accelerate deployment of new apps, and allow fallback to the old environment if needed. Since we are technologists at heart, our greatest satisfaction is derived from the recognition of our peers. We are all about helping organizations complete their digital transformations and multi-cloud journeys with round the clock availability and assurance.
Could you please share a case study on how you assisted clients to overcome a hurdle and attain desired outcomes?
The use of cloud is vital to any business model that requires flexibility and low costs, but, its success depends upon its availability and security. ZenVault Medical is one such model—a Personal Health Records (PHR) portal—that allows multitudes of consumers to manage their healthcare records online. When the portal was first brought online in 2010, the development was postponed due to doubts regarding cloud reliability, availability, and safety. ZeroDown Software’s in-house primary network paved the way for ZenVault Medical’s seamless migration to the cloud. ZeroDown’s BCaaS solution ensures ZenVault’s web-based services undergo numerous maintenance, repair, and upgrade cycles with complete business continuity, and zero downtime. ZenVault’s customers today enjoy round the clock access to their data regardless of scheduled service interruption from server upgrades, or unscheduled interruptions from distributed DoS attacks and natural disasters.
Where do you see ZeroDown Software in the near future?
2019 is already proving to be an extremely busy year with multiple engagements in South East Asia and Europe across various verticals and industries. We are strengthening our strategic and regional partnerships to deliver fully integrated end-to-end solutions that have a global presence. The only sustainable competitive advantage, in the long run, is to learn faster than the competition, and ZeroDown Software has proven adaptive to each huge leap forward in software architectures and next-generation innovations in technology.
