Progressive CIOs around the world have begun to look outside traditional ERPs, widening their focus on the rich ecosystem of functionalities offered by the cloud. In addition to reaping exceptional business outcomes from their existing application suite, modern enterprises, today, have the opportunity to completely digitalize their business while making this transformation journey significantly secure and resilient.
With this development in the cloud and its quick gain in traction among mid-size enterprises, factors such as cloud integration with complex business applications, data migration, and associated risks are still major concerns for CIOs, consequently keeping them from jumping on the disruptive cloud bandwagon. Mitigating these roadblocks in the paths of present-day CIOs by leveraging 16 years of experience in managing complex business applications is Velocity Technology Solutions.
As an expert in enterprise application services, Velocity specializes in helping its customers to capitalize on the benefits of the cloud while mitigating the risks that arise due to lack of skills, security, or escalating costs. Steve Kloeblen, CEO of Velocity, says, “Our value proposition is speed, cost reduction, identifying risk factors, and scale. After migrating thousands of customers to the cloud and managing uncountable complex applications, we have quantified our well of technological knowledge and a unique methodology substantiated by the expertise of a skilled team.”
Velocity’s team is focused on working collectively to deliver customer success. With an unmatched passion for serving the customer, the company prides itself on its nearly 200 certified architects in cloud platforms who strive to combine their genius and experience across any given function.
"We have been able to encode our knowledge and proactively drive migration projects for customers using our methods"

The company provides this service for several business applications of Oracle, including e-Business Suite, JD Edwards, and PeopleSoft.
Today, we are a well-recognized application services company with a robust cloud services capability and a proven track record
A Unique Approach
According to Kloeblen, when it comes to cloud migration, organizations that opt for heavy consulting and a custom front end often end up increasing the risks associated with migration. Over time, Velocity has encountered several customers who were previously saddled with expensive cloud consultants that spent months taking the customers on a wandering journey, trying to figure out the right approach to cloud. In addition to delays in time to value, engagements like these are usually known to absorb the customer’s resources, which can be highly counter-productive. Having witnessed challenges like these for more than a decade, Velocity has automated most of the consulting processes for its clients in its approach known as ‘speed to value’ methodology.
This prescriptive methodology allows customers to see the tangible benefits of cloud adoption and enables them to rapidly expand and quickly maximize their investments over the entire solution life cycle. Kloeblen explains, “We have been able to encode our knowledge and proactively drive migration projects for customers using our methods. This significantly allows them to reach their business objectives in shorter time frames, reduced to merely weeks with minimal risk potential.” For instance, Velocity helped a customer—a complex enterprise SaaS provider based out of the Washington, DC area—to migrate out of a data center. Velocity stepped in at the right time to aid the customer as their collocation data center contract was due in a couple of weeks. “We signed the contract with this customer as they trusted us with this endeavor to quickly migrate their data without disturbing the business,” adds Kloeblen.
A significant part of this trust is propelled by Velocity’s technical expertise in automating a large portion of its offering. The company brings automated tools that analyze customer’s environments and derive scalable methods to address various business applications in the cloud. In addition to that, the company also provides a rich capability in managing complex applications once the customer is up in the cloud. Kloeblen affirms, “What sets us apart from our competition is that we harness our years of core capabilities and integrate those with our technical platform, which eventually drives success for our clients.”
A Testament of Success
As an illustration of Velocity’s prowess, Kloeblen cites the success story of a large Canadian firm, which was an intermediate goods manufacturer operating at a global level. The company, at the time, was pursuing a high growth strategy through acquisitions and international expansion. However, their problem was the significant capital expenditure they had to endure, as they wanted to free up cash to support more acquisitions.
Velocity stepped into the scene with a capex free model of moving the customer to the cloud. Since the client was already working with JD Edwards applications, they were looking to integrate those applications with the cloud. Furthermore, the client wanted to exit a few data centers before the end of the term of the transition services agreement for acquisitions. As the customer merged two companies, they noticed the massive complexity within the ecosystem of applications workloads. As a result, the client wanted an experienced partner with the ability to focus on all the enterprise applications without causing any disruption to their manufacturing backdrop. With Velocity coming to the rescue, the customer successfully migrated to a much higher performing and resilient cloud platform. In addition, they also achieved seamless integration of their existing applications and significant improvement in their operations. Moreover, there was a considerable uptime increase in the service levels for their critical systems, allowing teams to focus on the strategy at hand and how to integrate that strategy with their acquisitions.
“We did all the heavy lifting that they needed us to do. They had a significant challenge keeping critical systems up and they were constantly firefighting. However, after bringing in Velocity’s team, they easily migrated to the cloud with almost no uptime issues and experienced improved performance,” adds Kloeblen. Today, this client is focused on enhancing their integration efforts and bringing about a complete modernization of their system. They are now planning to develop a strategy to digitize the business to gain competitive differentiation.
A Vision for the Future
As Velocity continues to enable a multitude of entities to embark upon the cloud journey, the company grows bigger with a profound understanding of the global cloud landscape. Having witnessed first-hand the advent of public cloud platforms, Velocity also observed the consequent inflection point experienced by the global IT services arena. Since then, the company has evolved alongside this transformation, studying and understanding the intricacies of the dynamics besides effectively educating the modern CIOs in the process. The power of this knowledge enables Velocity to better cater to businesses and develop the best strategies to move further on their journey of cloud services. Moreover, the growing demand for digitalization and organizational modernization has opened new opportunities for companies to embark upon advanced technological domains such as analytics, IoT, and so on. This development has lead several cloud services platforms such as Oracle to venture into providing a complete suite of enterprise applications. Interestingly, Velocity is at the forefront of this trend enabling cloud users with a fluid capability to use relevant third-party data and create rich data functionality across their supply chain or distribution chain. “Today, we are a well-recognized application services company with a robust cloud services capability and a proven track record. Our services are not merely confined to surface level cloud offerings or to providing time to value, but also ensuring that our customers trust us with managing their complex systems,” concludes Kloeblen.
