Nate Strauss, VP of Sales and MarketingThis is where Resort Data Processing, Inc. (RDP) comes to the rescue.
Founded in 1981, RDP is a resort management software company that develops, installs, and offers 24x7 support to over 1000 global resorts. In addition, the company provides customized services to all kinds of hospitality establishments, including vacation rentals, condominium units, resorts, hotels, timeshare or fractional properties, RV resorts, and private residence clubs (PRC).
In an interaction with CIO Applications magazine, Barry Biegler, President, RDP, talks about how the company is helping hospitality enterprises provide seamless guest experience.
Please walk us through the solutions that RDP provides to its customers.
Today, resort owners and managers are implementing PMS to automate their otherwise manual tasks. This innovative suite of noteworthy integrations steers an entire guest journey, from the moment people start searching for rooms on a resort’s website to when they check out. But due to budgetary constraints and sometimes poor information about these solutions, it becomes difficult for property managers to choose a competitive PMS that can scale or enhance their capabilities. RDP eliminates this quandary.
We offer a PMS that helps clients manage front-desk operations, housekeeping, maintenance, and other on-site services at their properties. In addition, we leverage data analytics and statistics to alleviate the pain points plaguing the hospitality space.
Our tailored and client-centric approach strengthens our tools and is also precisely what makes our business proposition valuable and unique in the market
Is there any particular trend that you witnessed happening during the pandemic in the past year?
The slowdown that the industry witnessed in the last 12 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic came with a silver lining. It allowed us to take a step back and connect with our customers. We took our sweet time in understanding their individual needs and unique nuances, and by relying heavily on customer feedback, we developed our products.
Our collaboration with clients helps us create great features that align with their business objectives. For instance, we have introduced a feature through which the resort owners or managers can offer their guests a remote check-in and check-out experience, which will help them bypass the front desk. This has come as a boon in our pandemic-stricken industry since it minimizes the need for face-to-face interactions, helping clients and guests to follow social-distancing norms.
What do you think makes RDP stand apart from its competitors?
Our approach towards handling property is what makes us different than our competitors. We have a clientcentric approach towards looking and understanding individual properties’ requirements. Instead of offering a one-size-fits-all kind of solution, we customize our solutions to suit the clients’ business objectives, allowing them to run their management just the way they want.
We are more focused on getting to know the clients’ properties before providing them with our innovations. It means that RDP commits to understanding how clients manage their day-to-day operations and based on that, we develop and offer our solutions to them. Our tailored and client-centric approach strengthens our tools and is also precisely what makes our business proposition valuable and unique in the market.
How do you envision the growth of your company in the upcoming years?
We are continually growing and evolving ourselves to bring novel functionalities and features to the table for our clients. In the next 12 to 18 months, our goal is to help more property owners solve their challenges. We will also keep a close eye on the latest technology innovations in the hospitality space to make our solution more robust in nature.
In a nutshell, our underlying goal is to continually listen, observe, and build solutions to address today’s business challenges and prepare the hotel industry for the future.
