Based out of Augusta, Georgia, Rendition Infosec LLC is one of the leading providers of information security and vulnerability management services. Rendition’s services include digital forensics, vulnerability management, incident response, security monitoring, and executive cybersecurity consulting—to name a few. In an interview with Jake Williams, Founder of Rendition Infosec LLC, Williams discussed the great importance of cybersecurity today and how Rendition provides services to help clients maximize their security investment.
Rendition’s Services
Williams tells us, “We provide of security services in three main categories: security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management/penetration testing. With Rendition’s monitoring service, we minimize the amount of damage an attacker can do in a network by detecting (and expelling) them quickly. We also perform penetration testing and vulnerability scanning to help clients identify any weaknesses in the network, hopefully before an attacker strikes. Many of Rendition’s clients come to us because they are experiencing an active network compromise. Rendition’s incident response team works with the client to recover from a cyber-attack. Our team educates clients so they understand the root cause of the incident. Then we train them to prevent similar issues in the future. Rendition’s clients can expect consistently high quality and unsurpassed expertise when working with us.”
What unique consulting services does Rendition Infosec provide?
“One of our flagship consulting products is called ‘Infosec State of the Union’. Rendition’s experts keep tabs on changes in the industry, including new technologies, vulnerabilities, and regulations. We then share this information with our clients in plain English, communicating in a way that leadership and stakeholders can understand. Companies are coming to us with a wide range of issues and the root cause of many of these issues is the complexity of cyber security topics.

What are some key differentiating factors that set you apart from other companies?
Williams shares, “Our team is our greatest strength. We are deliberate with whom we hire, and what skills they will bring to our clients. We help organizations tackle complex problems and deal with an increasingly complex regulatory environment—but we believe that mentoring our clients is the best way to ensure their long term success. We don’t hire people with hero complexes. We hire people who genuinely want to guide our clients to success.”
How do you ensure your clients are meeting current regulations?
“We are constantly keeping up to date with industry changes. We educate our clients to ensure they understand new regulations and compliance issues. One of Rendition’s tag lines is “we change ‘we think’ to ‘we know’.” Most leaders will tell you they are secure when asked. But if you ask them how they know, most admit they don’t really know at all. Rendition’s round-the-clock Security Operations Center (SOC) processes alerts from a large number of clients’ networks from around the globe. When bringing on new monitoring clients, it is not uncommon for Rendition to find breaches that occurred months (or even years) earlier. Because Rendition is a full scope security provider, we are able to provide incident response and computer forensics to identify and remediate the root cause of a compromise. Where other providers simply want to check a compliance box, Rendition wants to help ensure our customers are actually secure.
Could you share with us a case where you helped a client overcome a specific challenge?
Williams states, “A large bank approached us regarding cybersecurity evaluation. Our team found many vulnerabilities in the bank’s physical and network environments and broke in with relative ease. The bank was receiving annual penetration tests, but Rendition uncovered multiple vulnerabilities that had been missed for years. The vulnerabilities were only discovered through expert analysis and Rendition’s custom tools. We weren’t surprised these were missed previously—no automated commercial tools would have discovered these. Instead of just writing a report showing what we did, Rendition worked with the bank to actually close their security gaps. The bank had existing contracts with a managed security provider that limited their remediation options, but Rendition took the time to understand these contracts and customized a security plan that worked within the bank’s constraints. That’s the Rendition Infosec promise—we’ll act as your personal Sherpa on your journey up the mountain of cybersecurity challenges.”
What plans are there for Rendition Infosec LLC as a company?
We have our crosshairs locked on the threat intelligence space and are developing this service line. In the market today, threat intelligence services can cost upwards of hundreds of thousands of dollars annually – a price point that’s simply unrealistic for small and medium-sized enterprises. Our primary aim is to close that gap and offer threat intelligence at a price point that is affordable for every organization. Rendition is launching threat intelligence services in the near future in both subscription and pay-per-use model at a fraction of today’s bloated market prices. Rendition Infosec LLC provides maximum expertise, unparalleled customer service, and high ROI; all at a price point unmatched in the infosec industry.”
