Give us a brief overview about QPAIR?
As a managed service provider, our primary focus has been to help various organizations succeed in their digital transformation efforts. In order to execute this, we provide everything from developing a digital strategy to actually executing the same. We partner with the client teams and help them build reliable, stable, and a cost-effective infrastructure. Although QPAIR caters to a diverse clientele, we focus more on life science companies and provide cloud infrastructure services to them. Technically, our team helps data science teams automate data pipelines and operationalize machine learning models in the cloud.
The healthcare and life science industry is currently undergoing a massive change, adopting innovative technologies such as the IoT, and distributed processing systems. While these companies try to succeed in such initiatives, we help them with their device management, data processing, and even ML processing capabilities.
What are the challenges your clients face in their digital transformation efforts and how do your services help them?
Cloud providers have been introducing many programs specifically for the life sciences sector. Life science and healthcare organizations strive to improve the capabilities of their clinical pipeline through massive data processing. As they deal with a variety of different datasets from different sources like clinical trials, and partner systems, unifying that data is a predominant challenge. A lot of these data sources are disparate with different formats. It is an uphill task for many to bring all of those data sources together, and then unifying it for the clinical pipeline.
Our mission is to enable our clients to innovate faster while operating efficiently and cost effectively in the cloud
Everybody understands and sees the urgency to adopt cloud and other innovative technologies. However, they fail to identify which cloud service works best for them. As the public cloud providers are ramping up their capabilities, it is often confusing to choose a successful contender from the lot. One of the things that we do when we engage with the client is understand their ecosystem and landscape. We study the process, the business, and how the process should be integrated with the pipeline. By doing so, we help them understand their requirements and the right digital strategy for execution.
Once we identify the requirements and a service provider, we then bring our DevOps engineers for implementation. QPAIR’s cloud engineers have extensive experience in developing cloud-native applications. They develop and also help in deploying the cloud native architecture using DevOps and builds appropriate security practices. We oversee each and every phase during this process and deliver successful results through our expert team. We also provide around the clock support to our clients.
Could you cite a customer success story?
One of our clients was using AWS cloud and they started to develop their proof of concept (POC) around it. The POC turned into a successful implementation. However, the infrastructure was not reliable and their services started to collapse. When we onboarded the client, we made a quick assessment about the right DevOps or cloud native solution for them. For us, DevOps is a continuous journey and not a destination that is easily reached. In this particular case, the client cobbled together various AWS services to help run their business and paid no attention to the reliability aspect. Unfortunately, they had to bring power it up manually when it went down. We came up with a strategy and automated the entire infrastructure by leveraging tools like Terraform, and Ansible. We also created different environments for them and started extensive monitoring. With that, if any of the critical infrastructure went down, our support team would receive a PagerDuty call. We were able to quickly debug the issue and brought the infrastructure back into its previous state without any data or configuration loss. With our support, the client reduced downtimes significantly which helped in improving their business agility.
What does the future roadmap of your company look like?
We try to bring best practices to the table while tackling some common problems. We are developing AI based cloud deployment and optimization solutions to help our clients manage their cloud workloads efficiently. We have always positioned ourselves as a cloud-agnostic or multi-cloud cloud operations company. For that reason, we don't push our clients to choose a single service provider without considering the requirements. We try to help them decide what's their best-fit cloud solution available in the market. Some of our clients use the services of Google for say, data processing, while keeping their core infrastructure on AWS. We present such evolving hybrid models before the clients and we are seeing significant growth in such models. Ultimately, we focus on building solutions that help our customers manage their solutions across these multiple cloud providers seamlessly. As a part of this endeavour, we look forward to building the solutions and delivering it with utmost commitment. While we work with our clients, we introduce a new methodology and process that can help them achieve success in relatively shorter time.
