Participants in the $1 trillion+ U.S. commercial facility maintenance industry have become disconnected. Commercial property owners are increasingly outsourcing property management to national or regional firms with limited knowledge of the local service providers (SPs) capable of performing the services. These firms rely on rudimentary methods to source service providers such as landscapers and snowplow companies. In the same vein, service providers struggle to get noticed and access high-value commercial locations, with thousands entering and exiting the industry every year. Please shed some light on the procurement software on the basis of its methodology, features, and benefits involved?
Well-maintained facilities are critical to revenue generation, but the days of on-site property managers hiring local service providers are ending.
Tell us about a couple of instances where Procursys enabled clients to overcome hurdles with innovative solutions.
We’re a relatively new company, but we also have 25 years of experience in the industry. We founded the company a few years ago and went with our commercial launch in April 2021. We have clients already seeing the benefits of working with our platform. The most challenging and rewarding for Procursys and our client was a recent RFP for Snow and Ice Management services for a large, big-box retail store with a worldwide brand. Our client wanted to get closer to the service providers locally to improve service quality and reduce cost.
We worked closely with our client’s vendor management team to determine a strategy for the RFP and execute it flawlessly. We were able to source, vet, negotiate, and contract with thousands of service providers without emails, spreadsheets, or repeated phone calls. Procursys enabled our client to get access to more quality service providers to participate in their RFP, and we did quickly.
We facilitated more than 10,000 bid responses over just a few weeks. Without our technology, it would have taken months and significant cost to achieve that response. This enabled our client to reach the market with their stores earlier than any of their competitors, ensuring they got the best providers at the price point they wanted. The client realized real hard dollar savings in the eight-figure range over multiple years with increased service quality.
