Two days on how US asset managers of every size compete and thrive — through fee pressure, consolidation, the surge into private markets and the real-world arrival of AI
NEW YORK — TSAM New York 2026 returns on 22–23 September with an expanded two-day programme on the forces reshaping US asset management. Produced by Foxon Media and serving the finance community since 1997, the summit draws around 800 senior buy-side participants and more than 80 expert contributors across seven content streams.
One question runs through the whole programme: in a market defined by fee compression, consolidation, the rush into private markets and the arrival of AI, what does it take to compete and win - whether you manage $10 billion or $500 billion? TSAM is built for that full spectrum, setting the scale agenda of the largest global managers alongside insight on how boutique and mid-sized firms compete and thrive on focus, service and agility.
Day one, "The Competitive Landscape," tackles the decisions firms face now. Across four streams — Operations & Technology, AI & Data in Production, Client Engagement & Distribution, and Strategy & Leadership — sessions examine the current operating model, scaling complexity without scaling headcount, moving AI from pilot to governed production, vendor concentration risk and the human edge in distribution. An opening keynote fireside with Melissa Stolfi, Global Chief Operating Officer of The TCW Group, sets the tone on where focus and agility still beat sheer size; later sessions range from winning the model-portfolio channel to a Vanguard presentation on personalisation at scale.
If day one asks how to compete now, day two, "The New Frontier," asks where to grow next: the opening 401(k) channel, active ETFs, tokenisation, private credit and retail alternatives, anchored by Harvard professor Ned Gandevani on the rise of private markets. It builds to the closing keynote, "The Last Moat," and a question underpinning the whole event — will AI widen or narrow the gap between the giants and everyone else?
Day two is also built for connection. It dedicates structured time to peer benchmarking - eight roundtables grouped by discipline and firm type, from investment operations and technology to wealth, retirement, mega-scale and boutique managers - alongside an inclusive breakfast, a COO and senior leadership lunch, and a closing drinks reception. Some of the most valuable conversations happen between the sessions.
"We expanded to two days because there's simply more that matters," said Jude Tyrrell Broad, Content Director at Foxon Media. "The whole industry is contending with the same forces but the right response looks very different for a global manager and a boutique. We wanted a programme that speaks to both, and gives our buy-side audience time to benchmark against peers facing the same decisions."
The summit draws senior leaders from firms including Janus Henderson, Franklin Templeton, State Street Global Advisors, Apollo, Morgan Stanley, Schroders and VanEck, as well as founders and partners from specialist boutiques and mid-sized managers. Tickets are complimentary for all buy-side attendees.
