Working hand in hand with its clients, large multinational corporations with operations and business in Latin America, PREDIK Data-Driven developed a great capacity to break down, validate, and analyze the different sources of information through the creation of new data management techniques, models, and data management methodologies. This helps clients understand data and solve complex business problems. Today, the company's key differentiating element is the great flexibility, innovation, and adaptability that they have developed over the years.
Following is the conversation that CIO Applications magazine had with Andres Cobas, CEO of PREDIK Data- Driven.
Developing Tailor-Made Market Intelligence Solutions
With this great experience, we entered the U.S. market, where the challenges of the companies were as complex as the ones companies face in other regions. In this context, developing data analytics solutions for companies operating in this market has become an exciting challenge for PREDIK Data-Driven.
Another great differentiating element is our multi-industry approach. We have not focused on developing data analytics solutions for a single type of sector or industry. We have always worked with companies with different business backgrounds. The common factor for all of them has always been the same: they face a complex business problem, that we help them solve with a 100 percent data science-based approach.
Challenges Existing in the Industry
The great and main challenge faced by large leading companies in various industries and sectors is to ensure that they are incorporating in their strategic and business decision processes all the elements of information and alternative data that are available. The need is to understand how they can make the most of the infinity of data existing around them. The great change that data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning have brought is the possibility, previously non-existent, of collecting and analyzing pieces of information of all kinds, shapes and colors, which go beyond the traditional ones. This allows companies to incorporate this enormous flow of valuable alternative data into their processes and strategies through the implementation of data analytics solutions.
Our conversations with leaders of organizations have a common denominator: they know that the world of information has changed dramatically in recent years, and they don't want to be left behind. They are beginning to be aware of the great value, in the short and long term, of having the largest amount of data and the right tools and models to analyze it and obtain valuable insights into the business. This is where our company comes in since we design data analytics solutions tailored to the specific needs, characteristics, and business problems of each client.
A global corporation in the industrial and logistics sector needed to optimize its asset protection process and identify possible illegitimate uses of its product by its customers.
We developed a specific methodology tailored to the characteristics of the client, which consisted of modeling and understanding economic, legal and logistics relationships between the company, its clients and third parties involved in the distribution process of its products. Through the developed model, it was possible to identify the points in the process where there is a greater probability that the client's products will be used illegitimately.
For the design and implementation of this solution, we designed a combined methodology using machine learning, predictive analytics and advanced data mining techniques. Our team of data scientists resorted to a wide variety of data sources, primary and alternative, public and private, as well as the client's own information.
Using relationship data combined with other sources and using predictive analytics methodologies, we helped this company to optimize their asset protection strategies and avoid potential disruptions in the supply chain by getting a better understanding of its suppliers, final clients, and competitors. We helped them to infer economic, logistics, legal and business relations between facilities and companies across the U.S. Our client was able to explore and identify unknown business connections and, therefore, increase revenue and minimize risks.
Helping Companies to Analyze Trade Areas
We have developed a robust and complete methodology that allows us, in any type of activity and in any market in the world, to analyze neighborhoods, cities and entire countries to understand the behavior of the people who move through the streets on a daily basis, what preferences and tastes they have, what their socioeconomic level is, their purchasing patterns, what brands they prefer, where they spend more time and what points of sale they visit, among other interesting layers of information.
One of our most distinct features is our multi-industry approach and the great flexibility and personalized service we offer to our customers
Our data-driven location analytics solutions help any kind of retail company identify the best potential locations for new stores and define their strategic roadmap.
We basically help retail companies of any sector to optimize their business roadmap using data analytics. We begin with the evaluation of the city or area of interest in order to define if it offers a real market opportunity. We help the company answer the typical questions that arise when performing a market study: Is there a real market opportunity? Are our potential customers in the area we are interested in? What competition should we face? The main difference from the traditional methods is that we perform this market study with a 100% alternative data-driven approach.
Once we have validated that the area or city of interest offers the sizable market opportunity our client is looking for, we go further in-depth to find the best locations for the new stores. We begin by answering questions such as: Where are the best locations for the new stores? How many stores should we open? Where are my competitors' stores? What is the expected revenue in each of the potential stores?
The Prime Differentiator
I would say one of our most distinct features is the great flexibility and personalized service we offer to our customers. We are not a large and structured corporation; we are a boutique data analytics company with a small but highly talented and experienced human team comprised of data scientists, mathematicians, tech engineers and business experts. We combine the best of two worlds: business and technology.
