Taking a look at cyber solutions: Cybersecurity solutions are available to agencies in a variety of forms. Together, these cybersecurity solutions help agencies in protecting their data at different stages. The process includes collecting data, transferring it between systems and users, and storing it until it is deleted.
Despite the fact that there are various different systems, they all share the same goal: to provide agencies with visibility into their computer networks and to alert technology leaders to suspicious activities.
Cybersecurity technologies include the following:
Systems for detecting and preventing intrusions: IDS and IPS tools help IT staff identify and protect their wired and wireless networks against a variety of security threats. As government networks have become more complex, these technologies have become more popular. As well as threats caused by policy violations, IDS and IPS solutions detect malware, spyware, viruses, worms, and other attack types. An IDS tool monitors and detects suspicious activity; an IPS tool performs active, in-line monitoring and can prevent attacks. Computer security can be improved by identifying and classifying attack types using both types of tools.
Management of mobile devices: Known as MDM solutions, these solutions enable administrators to monitor and control security configurations on mobile devices remotely. Employees can work remotely on agency-approved devices, but management can ensure these devices are secure since they can manage them at all times.
