Even though AI in the aviation industry is still in its early stages, made considerable progress due to several significant carriers investing in AI.
Fremont, CA: The aviation industry, particularly the commercial aviation segment, strives to enhance operational efficiency and customer loyalty. With this in mind, it has begun to employ artificial intelligence. Even though AI in the aviation industry is still in its early stages, made considerable progress due to several significant carriers investing in AI.
Leading airplanes are now looking at how artificial intelligence (AI) may help them keep up with client demand while improving operational adequacy, speed, and customer loyalty. Let's take a look at some of the potential developments in the aviation industry.
• Baggage Screening
Baggage screening is another tedious but necessary duty that must get completed at the airport. In any case, AI has simplified the luggage inspection process. The Syntech ONE 200, an AI invention designed to check luggage for multiple passenger lanes, will be introduced at Osaka Airport in Japan. Such gadgets will automate the luggage screening process and assist authorities in successfully identifying illegal items. In addition, Syntech ONE 200 works well with the X-beam security system, increasing the chances of detecting possible threats.
• Virtual Assistants
Artificial intelligence-based virtual assistants aid aviation companies in increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of their pilots by reducing repetitive tasks like changing radio stations, reading wind predictions, and providing location data on demand, among other things. AI-enabled virtual assistants can take care of these mundane tasks.
Aviation companies also use virtual assistants to improve customer service. Meanwhile, Virtual help driven by artificial intelligence may provide quick solutions to simple questions. Flight status and services/contributions on flights are examples of common queries. In addition, it frees up the human customer support representatives to handle more complex situations.
• Customer Assistance
United Airlines is using Amazon's Alexa to answer some common customer queries. The United skill is the name for this feature. To get started, passengers can add the United skill to their Alexa app and then start asking questions. Alexa is adept at answering common queries, such as the status of a trip by number, check-in requests, and Wi-Fi availability on a flight. However, the early feedback has got mixed because there is an expectation for AI to learn and adapt, and there is still a long way to go before AI can handle client support.
• Maintenance Prediction
Airline companies want to use AI to predict maintenance issues before they happen. Airbus, the world's largest aircraft manufacturer, is taking steps to enhance the reliability of aircraft maintenance. Skywise, a cloud-based data storage platform, is what they're using. It encourages the fleet to collect and record a massive amount of real-time data.
The use of AI in predictive maintenance analytics will pave the way for a planned approach to how and when aviation maintenance should get completed.
