VisionTrack anticipates rapid adoption of AI-based video telematics by commercial fleet operators in the United States.
FREMONT, CA: “VisionTrack doubled its operation in the U.S., including several senior appointments, at a time when the company increased its global workforce by over 40 percent, with particular focus on strengthening its computer vision and machine learning capabilities,” says Matthew Ison, Head of Sales, North America, VisionTrack. VisionTrack, the leading AI video telematics specialist, has stated that worldwide commercial fleet operators will increase their use of its AI-based video telematics system in 2022. Within the past year, the number of cameras connected to its award-winning IoT platform has climbed by 43 percent, with the quickly expanding U.S. operation now accounting for more than 10 percent of all devices.
“As a result, VisionTrack was able to accelerate the development of innovative AI video telematics that automate management processes, data analysis, and incident detection,” adds Ison.

VisionTracks AI camera technology employs Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS), Driver Status Monitoring (DSM), and Blind Spot Detection (BSD) to automatically monitor hazards and high-risk behaviors on the road and provide real-time feedback directly to the driver, allowing fleet operators to maintain safety levels for both their drivers and other road users, save time monitoring routine behavior, and automate management processes.
VisionTrack-enabled devices are logging an average of four million miles per day per driver. In addition, 35 billion data points and 63 million hours of video are captured every month, which would take the typical person nearly 12.5 lifetimes to watch. By utilizing this data, the company obtains a unique insight into vehicle travel, traffic levels, and driver behavior, enabling VisionTrack to continuously push the limits of what is possible and promote data-driven problem solutions.
“Vehicle operators are increasingly targeting road safety, fleet risk, and insurance improvements, so we have huge opportunities with our proven and industry-leading video telematics software. The functionality, scalability, and capacity of the VisionTrack platform are making it possible for us to develop sophisticated AI technologies. This is keeping us at the forefront of the marketplace,” says Simon Marsh, CEO of VisionTrack.
VisionTrack continued to champion fleet safety in 2022, working with key partners in the United States. This included sponsoring and attending the Together for Safer Roads (TSR) annual summit in New York City to support the TSR's focus on Vision Zero and eliminating the 40,000+ deaths that result from traffic accidents on U.S. roads.
