Sensors embedded in IoT devices allow them to communicate with each other and pursue a series of actions based on the data collected, locations recognized, and movements detected. Apparently, all of this is designed to make our lives easier.
Any device or appliance that communicates with another device or appliance is sharing information. And they share this information through technology. The IT service management (ITSM) team is responsible for managing the devices under the umbrella of IT service management (ITSM).

There are numerous ways in which IoT will empower service management. The data collected from IoT devices can be used to improve service management for organizations.
Several ways in which IoT will impact IT Service Management (ITSM) are as follows:
Escalated Quantity of Incidents: Smartphones and other new devices have created a lot of complexity today.
When applications and services interact with each other in diverse situations, small bugs become known as a result of new mobile operating systems and devices.
Now IoT APIs, monitoring devices, robots, wearables, and automated building control systems are being added. There is no escaping the fact that incidents will escalate.
Concerns about new security threats: Among the key issues created by the IoT is the interaction between devices and their automatic response to what they have learned.
Therefore, a hacker with unauthorized access to the network may be able to do more than just steal data.
Additionally, that individual could alter the configuration of IoT devices or feed them false data to adjust how they interact with the physical environment as well as steal any safety-related information.
In this way, robots could harm people, cause temperatures to rise to dangerous levels where climate control is crucial, or cause some severe damage, almost like something out of a sci-fi movie.
The complexity of change management: With more devices interacting with the network, a change could adversely affect more configuration items.
There will be a need for increased visibility due to the surge in devices and their interdependence.
