Google Cloud's speech-to-text fine-tuning gen AI capabilities will be added to Symphony's Cloud9 voice product for trading collaboration to improve efficiency and risk management.
FREMONT, CA: “Generative AI has the potential to transform the trading landscape from automating routine tasks to identifying potential misconduct through anomalies in data,” says Zac Maufe, global head of Regulated Industries at Google Cloud.
The premier markets infrastructure and technology platform, Symphony, will offer voice analytics specifically designed for the financial markets by fusing its domain knowledge and artificial intelligence (AI) skills with Google Cloud's transcription and generative artificial intelligence (gen AI) capabilities. The strategic alliance that Symphony has with Google Cloud is its leading cloud provider.

"Our expanded partnership with Symphony builds on the success of our long-standing collaboration, and with the integration of speech-to-text gen AI, Symphony can provide financial institutions with high-accuracy voice analytics that can help improve risk management and drive efficiencies across the trading floor,” adds Zac Maufe.
Voice transcription in the financial markets is challenging because of the industry's jargon, high level of specialization, speed, and need for security to preserve the privacy of daily talks, business deals, and strategies. Pre-packaged transcription services are unsuitable for their intended use and do not offer the level of security that financial services companies demand.
“We have been on a journey with Google Cloud for the past two years, one that has been a true partnership on many fronts. We are confident that by tapping Google Clouds AI capabilities for voice analytics, Symphony will be able to offer the more than 1,000 institutions we serve with top-notch service that will create further efficiency and innovation in financial markets,” says Brad Levy, CEO of Symphony.
Symphony will use Google Cloud's gen AI platform, Vertex AI, to improve its Cloud9 voice product with speech-to-text fine-tuning and natural language processing (NLP) capabilities, enabling its customers to receive high-accuracy voice analytics. Finance and trading teams can work together more effectively across various asset classes, including equity derivatives, interest rate swaps, and commodities, using Cloud9, a cloud-based voice solution.
Cloud9 will give financial institutions better real-time voice analytics capabilities with gen AI. The capabilities can minimize post-trade processing problems, speed up trade reconstruction, and improve customer service while adhering to security and compliance regulations. When dubious conversations are discovered, the compliance-enabling feature can also be used to actively analyze and manage risks by flagging requests for compliance review.
