Sumo Logic Secures Cloud-Native Apps with AWS Verified Access and AWS Virtual Private Cloud

With AWS Verified Access, Sumo Logic makes cloud-native apps more reliable and secure using AWS Virtual Private Cloud.
FREMONT, CA: Businesses can launch AWS resources into a virtual network using Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC). They can operate this virtual network as they would in their data center, only with the benefits of AWS's scalable infrastructure. Sumo Logic, the SaaS analytics platform that enables dependable and secure cloud-native apps, has come up with a preview of AWS Verified Access, a new service for Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). Sumo Logic will exhibit its observability and security solutions for AWS at AWS re: Invent 2022 in Las Vegas this week at Booth #1120.
“Sumo Logics support for AWS Verified Access builds upon our relationship with AWS and further enhances the value we can deliver to digital enterprises that need faster, smarter, and more secure delivery," says Dave Frampton, SVP and General Manager, Security Business Unit, Sumo Logic. "Incorporating each integration into holistic correlations across the entire security landscape helps customers identify threats earlier and accelerates the investigation and remediation cycles at the core of the security operations challenge for modern enterprises."
AWS Verified Access unites Identity Providers (IdP) that identify and authenticate individual users with Endpoint Management (EM) suppliers that acquire device security information to give policy-based safe access control to private apps without requiring a Virtual Private Network (VPN). Sumo Logic enhances the effectiveness of AWS Verified Access by correlating access with other data to produce security insights, supplying security context from user and endpoint activity, and providing playbooks to probe access.
Sumo Logic with AWS Verified Access - Investigate, Correlate, and Detect Security Events
AWS Verified Access enables administrators to build a set of policies for controlling user access to business applications, removing the need to manage access via different security solutions. These policies may be based on the user's identity, the device's security status, and other real-time data, such as behavioral analytics. Sumo Logic integrates AWS Verified Access context and insights into security and observability-spanning detection, investigation, and remediation workflows.
AWS Verified Access generates additional detailed logging for each attempt made by a user to access an application. Sumo Logic then integrates the access data with other data sources to deliver deeper analytics, visibility, and security insights to detect changes in access to accelerate security investigations and incident response.
Sumo Logic provides security context on all identities and devices consolidated through AWS Verified Access, which may be utilized to mediate access to sensitive resources. Sumo Logic consumes extensive telemetry for all services that communicate with AWS Verified Access to provide customers with enhanced insight across all AWS services.
Sumo Logic playbooks automatically review refused access or strange access patterns, such as a user gaining access to several resources they had never accessed. Sumo Logic automated playbooks remediate access where there is unexpected access or where access is denied, if necessary.
