Okta clients can effortlessly manage consumer privacy and security across complicated settings with PrivaceraCloud's automated policy development and enforcement.
FREMONT, CA: Privacera, the cloud data access governance, and security company created by the Apache RangerTM founders, announced today that it was added as a validated integration in the Okta Integration Network. The addition of Privacera to the Okta Integration Network confirms the company's trusted, tried-and-true approach to unified data access governance, which is the cornerstone for attaining Zero Trust Access throughout the extended data cloud. Privacera provides data security governance for modern data clouds by providing discovery, encryption, and fine-grained access control.
"As enterprises continue to adopt a wide array of open cloud architectures to take advantage of each one's unique capabilities, managing customer privacy and security must be a top priority," said William Brooks, VP of Partner Product Management at Privacera. "This can be very challenging for overburdened governance, IT, and data teams, especially in complex environments. Privacera reduces the burden by seamlessly syncing and managing identity data from authentication systems like Okta with authorization entitlements, so that there are no gaps or inconsistencies, and governance policies can be uniformly enforced and audited across cloud environments."

The seamless integration of PrivaceraCloud with Okta lowers cloud security concerns by automating the process of maintaining user identities. In addition, Privacera relieves IT security and data teams of the manual effort by providing real-time identity verification and fine-grained access controls across data in multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud settings from a single place.
Key features of the integration include:
- Seamless integration Privacera works with classic identity and authentication solutions like LDAP, Active Directory, Azure AD, and single sign-on platforms that support OAuth and SAML. In addition, joint users get updates from SCIM identity servers like Okta or Azure AD and access to SCIM APIs in services like Databricks to immediately bring new users, groups, and characteristics into Privacera.
- Centralized, automated policy creation: As attributes in Okta identities change, rules in cloud data sources and Privacera-secured systems update instantly and dynamically to maintain consistent enforcement across joint users' environments—all from a single centralized place.
- Fine-grained access control and hardened security for Data Lakehouse architectures: Data Lakehouses utilize a standard paradigm for accessing shared data using various technologies. Unlike other solutions, Privacera's access control architecture, when paired with a single sign-on, such as Okta's identity management, can provide uniform enforcement regardless of the tool used.
- Auditing and reporting for compliance: Privacera's extensive data lineage, audit logs/reporting, and compliance processes, along with Okta's identification and permission, give complete transparency into data usage for simple compliance with privacy and industry standards such as the CCPA, GDPR, LGPD, HIPAA, and others.
