Effective access management, governance, and protection of an organization's sensitive data have never been more critical as many enterprises move to multi- and hybrid-cloud infrastructures. Data teams may become overburdened managing specific access controls and policies through different cloud platforms and applications in these dynamic environments.
Companies can use Apache Ranger to enforce access controls while they move their analytical workloads to the cloud thanks to its integration with cloud services like Amazon EMR. Via Secret Agent and Record Server, Amazon EMR gives Lake Formation access control.
Apache Ranger is utilized to provide controls for users' requests to access data for Apache Spark and Apache Hive workloads on EMR. Companies can align their current policies with their EMR solution to completely automate their data access governance processes, simplify administration, and harden their data privacy and protection by linking EMR's Record Server to Privacera's Ranger-based data access governance framework. The following are some of the features:
User interface has been streamlined, auditing has been implemented, and high availability support has been introduced.
Privacera Portal supports multiple authentication frameworks natively, including SAML-based SSO to web UI, Azure AD, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.
Data exploration for critical data in S3, ADLS, Snowflake, Databricks, Synapse, and other systems.
Access policies centered on tags, positions, and attributes.
To allow field- and column-level encryption, NIST standards are used to implement the scheme and policy-based encryption.
