Privacera Expands Google Cloud Data Security Capabilities with Dataproc
Dataproc provides clients with the capacity to locate and safeguard sensitive data sets across various GCP data services.
FREMONT, CA: "Expanding the sources that we support and contributing to the Apache Ranger community increases the ability for our customers to leverage their existing investments in secure and consistent data access policies. Our customers, including a large consumer credit reporting agency that uses GCP and Privacera as part of their modern data stack, can now extend their capabilities to discover and secure sensitive data sets across numerous GCP data services while migrating safely to the cloud." says Balaji Ganesan, CEO of Privacera.
Privacera, one of the leaders in data security governance based on open standards and founded by the creators of Apache Ranger, expands native support for Dataproc. This integration allows Apache Hive, Apache Spark, and Presto users to establish and enforce fine-grained level access control to Dataproc.
Privacera natively supports and integrates several Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including BigQuery and Google Cloud Storage. Privacera assists enterprise data teams in protecting sensitive data and enabling privacy across all on-premise, hybrid, and multi-cloud data sources while automating manual governance processes to save time for insights.
With Privacera's direct integration with Dataproc, enterprises can speed their migration to GCP by safely managing data access policies across varied on-premise and GCP data sources. It would considerably minimize the effort required for cloud-based data migrations through increased automation, consistent policy management, and the ability to ensure compliance through an open, consistent, and established standard.
Privacera is based on Apache Ranger open standards, Apache Ranger customers who want to build new cloud-based secure data applications. They may now leverage the same security and governance features they are accustomed to for additional sources at enterprise size and with more functionality.
