Datavant Switchboard-powered Digital Release of Information provides quicker, better accurate data retrieval & release and improved patient and requestor satisfaction while boosting providers' control and transparency over patient data. Ciox Health, a Datavant Company, presently provides information services to 75 percent of the leading hospitals in the United States and will be supplying Datavant Switchboard to interested health systems. As a result, more than 40 health systems, including around 4,000 hospitals and clinics, have securely used digital ROI to securely disclose information to approved requestors. In addition, Ciox retrieved around 5 million patient requests digitally, mostly on the platform in the previous 12 months.
As more providers use Datavant Switchboard, the platform will grow to support additional use-cases, including quality reporting, continuity of care, research collaborations, clinical trials, and participation in registries and research networks, all of which will benefit patients, providers, and the quality and efficiency of the healthcare system. In addition, individual use cases would be enabled exclusively with the provider's permission, allowing providers to select which Switchboard functionalities to employ.
"We are at the precipice of interoperability," said Travis May, Founder, and President of Datavant. "As we transform the burdensome operational task of retrieving and delivering patient health data by enabling a secure digital platform, we will unlock the ability for data to advance care transformation, improve risk management, and generate evidence at a pace never seen before."
