Security teams can block unsafe, untrusted, and vulnerable applications using the latest threat prevention module
FREMONT, CA: "Third-party applications are essential to productivity, but they also greatly expand organizations' attack surfaces," said Malwarebytes Chief Product Officer Mark Strassman. "Malwarebytes Application Block can be near-instantly deployed, helping resource-strapped organizations to effectively manage secure access to third-party apps and add another protective layer without added complexity."
According to Malwarebytes, one of the world leaders in real-time cyber protection, the OneView and Nebula endpoint protection solutions now include Malwarebytes Application Block. The new threat prevention module aids security teams with limited resources in meeting important compliance requirements, preventing the use of dangerous third-party Windows apps, and boosting productivity without complicating administration.

Businesses with little IT resources and knowledge face a severe security risk from third-party apps. More than a million malicious apps have been downloaded because of flaws in Android apps, and Google Play is routinely found to include malware, according to researchers. Businesses of all sizes may be vulnerable to phishing tactics or exploitation because 63 percent of employees use unauthorized applications—two of the four most common methods attackers reach a company's network.
Application Block enables IT administrators to ban or restrict access to outdated, untrusted, or risky applications with known vulnerabilities or that lack the most recent fixes for the more than 1.4 billion Windows 10 or Windows 11 devices that are actively used each month. To satisfy important compliance requirements and traverse escalating data protection standards, IT security teams can use Application Block's reporting features and dashboard to see what applications are being blocked in real-time.
The Malwarebytes Nebula and OneView platforms now support Malwarebytes Application Block on Windows endpoints, assisting organizations:
Enhance application security by blocking susceptible applications until a patch is available or stopping the execution of vulnerable applications so businesses can test and apply upgrades.
Promote Employee Productivity by limiting access to applications that are not necessary for a company, maximizing effectiveness, and conserving resources.
Meet Compliance Requirements - Lessen the chance of breaking data protection laws like GDPR, CIPA, or HIPAA.
