A new 1U 5G IPRAN access device enables interfaces to meet the 5G full-lifecycle requirements.

FREMONT, CA: A telecommunication, enterprise, and consumer technology solution provider, ZTE Corporation, has launched the new compact and intelligent 1U 5G IPRAN. The 1U-size device can be easily installed into a regular 300mm-depth cabinet that offers a variety of interfaces. The novel device supports microsecond-level ultra-low forwarding latency and Accurate Time Source, Advanced Time Stamp, and Self-Adaptive Time Algorithm (3A) ultra-high-precision time synchronization. It uses the unidirectional switching capacity up to 320G, fitting the scenarios where the equipment room area is small, and the power supply is inadequate, helping operators deploy 5G transport networks effectively at low cost.

The new 5G IPRAN access layer product supports 25GE/50GE/100GE interfaces to match the 5G full-lifecycle requirements. Its unidirectional switching function reaches 320 Gbps that satisfies the large-capacity access necessities of users in the 5G era. The 1U 5G IPRAN device supports the FlexE technology that will enable microsecond-level data forwarding latency the L1 Slicing Channel. It will also offer hard slices for low-latency and high-reliability services. Based on ZTE's core in-house chipsets new 5G IPRAN stack depth reaches ten layers, representing the industry's highest level. The new device supports ZTE's self-developed ultra-high-precision 3A time synchronization. With 1U height and 270mm depth, the new 5G IPRAN has advantages as small size, low weight, and simple installation; hence, the device is a better choice for the operators in the scenarios with severe construction conditions, small spaces, and fixed budgets.

ZTE is a provider of high-level telecommunications systems, mobile devices, and enterprise technology solutions to customers, operators, businesses, and public sector customers. As a part of ZTE's approach, the company is dedicated to providing consumers with integrated end-to-end innovations to provide excellence and value as the telecommunications and IT sectors converge.
