Major Health and Wellness Trends to Watch for in 2021

Rapid advances in tracking and testing, which enable personalized health and wellness recommendations on demand, have become one of the most significant developments in health and wellness.
Fremont, CA: Globally, the health and wellness industry is booming. Health and wellness, which were already top priorities for many consumers prior to COVID, have become even more prominent as a result of the pandemic. According to recent research, the global wellness market is worth $1.5 trillion and is growing rapidly – at a rate of 5 percent – 10 percent per year.
Let us look at some major health and wellness trends:
Track Your Health with Wearables
Rapid advances in tracking and testing, which enable personalized health and wellness recommendations on demand, have become one of the most significant developments in health and wellness.
Wearables are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Consumers can now track more granular metrics than ever before.
Wearables are not only collecting more data, but they are also using it to better empower their users. Oura, the world's first wearable ring, for example, offers a "readiness score" to help users understand when they are at their peak – both physically and mentally – and when they should focus on recovery.
Similar developments are taking place in the testing world, with companies allowing users to complete a series of tests at home and then personalize their recommendations based on the results. In-home testing has previously been a barrier to personalized health and nutrition, but with increased familiarity with the concept as a result of the pandemic, it may now open the door to new services that combine testing and tracking to create hyper-personalized recommendations at speed.
A Scientific Approach to Sleeping
The pandemic's impact is fueling growth in this sector, with consumers placing a greater emphasis on quality sleep in the face of anxiety and stress.
This is paving the way for a more scientific approach to sleeping. According to the Global Wellness Summit, a new emphasis on circadian health will shape the products and services we see in the category. Circadian health is the alignment of human behaviors with natural circadian rhythms – 24-hour cycles such as the sleep-wake cycle that are influenced by external factors such as natural light and temperature.
Shifting people's thinking about sleep to place a bigger emphasis on circadian rhythms could have broader implications for other behaviors, such as disconnecting from devices before bed or how people care for their skin, making this an interesting space to watch.
