Scala came up with Latin America's largest data center with a capacity of 18MW, located at the Tambore campus, Sao Paulo, Brazil.

One of the leading Latin American providers of sustainable data centers in the hyperscale market, Scala Data Centers, has opened SGRUTB04, Latin America's largest vertical data center with a capacity of 18MW. In Greater Sao Paulo, Brazil, SGRUTB04 is located on the Tamboré Campus in the company's complex.

A single-tenant data center built in compliance with LEED, which is a certification that emphasizes sustainable construction, features a modern refrigeration system with indirect free cooling, a backup UPS system, and an energy efficiency rate of around 1,35, one of the lowest in the region. It has almost 140,000 square feet of the total build area, almost 56 meters in height, and seven floors, four of which are dedicated to the main data halls, which add up to having over 1,500 racks, making it one of the tallest Scala data centers ever built. A customer-specific office, dock, storage area, and meet-me rooms are also available at SGRUTB04.
The executive also states that SGRUTB04 materializes Scala's successful commercial strategy, in which the client employed the reserved capacity, doubling the contracted capacity even before the initially planned production start date. "Unlike the market in general, Scala does not just deliver contractual commitments; we actually invest in our clients, positioning ourselves as true partners," he details.
SGRUTB04 was built using Scala's proprietary One Scala Template methodology, designed by Scala's Center of Excellence in Engineering (CoE) to meet the hyperscale market's needs. Scala's CoE, comprised of more than 150 professionals, develops new technologies to optimize data center construction and operation. A ground-breaking initiative in Latin America, the CoE consists of a team of specialists responsible for the entire process of designing, constructing, and commissioning data centers. Verticalizing all stages reduces delivery time, ensures standardization that increases scale, and allows for unparalleled customization.
