Key Challenges during Data Center Migration You Cannot Afford to Neglect

Data Center migration is critical for businesses seeking to meet the growing IT/data services demands. However, regardless of its importance, this process is fraught with difficulties. As a result, it is prudent to tread carefully and assess the essential requirements and the challenges that typically accompany Data Center migration.
Fremont, CA: Data Center migration entails physically or virtually relocating a company's entire IT operation from one Data Center to another (shared Data Centers via the cloud). Here are the five fundamental challenges, or rather considerations, for a successful Data Center migration:
Credentials of Service Providers
Before entering into a collaboration with a Data Center migration provider, it is critical to evaluate the service provider's business; what is their track record of providing Data Center services as well as maintaining colocation Data Centers; do they operate by purchasing Data Center services from multiple providers; and what are the terms and conditions.
Customer Care
Any service, including data center migration, must provide excellent customer service. Providers who have established a good track record for their services in the market have done so by delivering seamless and actionable IT/data solutions and catering to their customers' minor troubles and issues. Good providers' services are accompanied
Location of the Data Center
A service provider's Data Center location is an essential consideration for a company's future operations. A provider may promise to meet all of a company's core needs today, but they may break that promise in the future. For example, if a provider acquires another Data Center provider's location, the Data Center facilities may be close to one another. As a result, the service provider may decide that having multiple Data Centers close together is unnecessary and may shut down some selected locations.
Service Packages
Customers can significantly benefit from Data Center providers who provide users with access to facility resources and network connectivity. However, not all providers are capable of doing so. In addition, providers that do not own their facilities, locations, and operations frequently collaborate with third-party providers or platforms that may go out of business in the future.
Dependability
Finally, one of the most important factors to consider when migrating a data center is the service provider's dependability. To determine this, examine the security systems, HVAC features, OPEX, availability and uptime, and other relevant metrics. In addition, it is prudent to select a provider with a low number of service outages in the past, as a service outage can be costly.
