FREMONT, CA: Infortrend Technology, the industry-leading enterprise storage provider, has introduced U.2 SSD solution for EonStor CS scale-out NAS. The new all-flash CS 4014U meets high-performance demands for high throughput and low latency workloads like media and entertainment (M&E), HPC, Big Data, and others.
EonStor CS is a scale-out NAS storage system that can increase capacity and performance linearly by adding more nodes. CS delivers total data protection and high availability to avoid data loss and system downtime due to disk damage or system failures. Each CS 4014U node may be outfitted with 14 U.2 SSDs, and a 5-node cluster can achieve 20GB/s throughput.

The CS 4014U provides a hybrid setup for a more cost-effective option. Because certain company data demands instant access while others are infrequently viewed, CS now offers auto-tiering. This function automatically distributes data: often accessed data is stored in the SSD tier to improve access to currently 'hot' data, whilst seldom accessed 'cold' data is relocated to the HDD tier to optimize capacity consumption and save money.
The CS 4014U offers intelligent drive management and real-time SSD monitoring to anticipate the number of days remaining for use. When an SSD reaches the end of its useful life, the system advises users to replace it as soon as possible. The CS 4014U uses a collection of clever algorithms to optimize data in order to extend the service life of the SSD and prevent simultaneous damage to numerous SSDs.
