Impact of AR and VR in E-Learning
E-learning is no more a concept as it is transformed into a full-fledged industry with the advent of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). AR, VR enabled tools and applications are redefining the traditional learning concepts. Complex theories can now be easily understood with 3D modules enabling students to learn better. Currently, a complete transformation from traditional learning to E-learning is not observed but is evident as the education sector is rapidly gravitating towards the technology and embracing the same.
AR and VR enabled applications have highly interactive interface which intrigues students to learn faster and simplifies theories and formulas for them to understand. Access to required information is also easy. Visualization capabilities are also enhanced through such interfaces, students tend to remember concepts for a longer period of time than traditional methods.

AR facilitates learners to access the study material at any point in time, as it holds the capability to replace paper books, posters, and other physical models. AR applications are compatible with mobile devices making education portable and affordable for all.
Gamification of Education
Together AR and VR are introducing gaming methodologies in education. Concepts are being transformed into games for interesting and simpler learning techniques. A greater shift of learners has been observed towards the gaming concept which reflects the demand and possibilities for new career opportunities.
VR is a technology that enables one to experience scenarios through virtualization which led to the formation of virtual labs. Unlike traditional labs, virtual labs are powered by cameras, scanners, and projectors to create a virtual environment enabling students to understand micro-science concepts with greater efficiency. It also facilitates the conduction of simulated experiments based on real-world phenomena and allows students to interact with the apparatus through computer programs. The major benefit of virtual labs is that they can be transformed into various models with adjustments in software; as a result, the same lab can be utilized for multiple subjects, saving the infrastructural cost.
