How Clinical Mobility Workshop can Help Hospitals Reap Benefits

The user experience and patient outcomes improves when healthcare workflows move to a mobile platform
Fremont, CA: As in many industries, healthcare organizations find that employee expectations of technology are rising as millennials and Generation Z employees replace retiring workers. These younger healthcare professionals grew up with mobility, and they expect to be able to use mobile devices and apps to do virtually all aspects of their jobs.
Establishing Objectives
We bring stakeholders from both the IT department and clinical operations together in a Clinical Mobility Workshop to better understand where the business wants to go. Getting everyone on the same page on which workflows should be migrated to a mobile paradigm and why is highly beneficial.
Mapping of Communications
Many moving parts make up healthcare organizations, and many of these moving parts are human. Therefore, understanding how information flows from one person or department to the next is essential for determining where and how inefficiencies emerge in complicated clinical processes.
When we talk to groups of nurses, they frequently tell us that they don't have a quick means to contact doctors when they need to connect with them. Physicians in specific organizations give out their cell phone information to nurses to be accessed immediately via text message.
Develop a Solution
CMW can assist in creating solutions once IT teams have a better knowledge of which types of workflows would benefit from improved mobility. For example, secure communication, alert and alarm management, prescription administration, specimen collection, wound documentation, and mobile documentation is examples of workflows' applications and processes.
