The latest telehealth offerings are providing all-day virtual care for patients, thereby improving the quality of care delivered.
FREMONT, CA: Telehealth is emerging as a vital component of health care delivery. It holds the promise to significantly impact the most challenging problems of the current healthcare system. Realizing this essentiality, MinuteClinic, CVS Health's retail, a medical clinic is offering Video Visit, its telehealth platform. With this platform, people suffering from minor illnesses, minor injuries, and unfavorable skin conditions can now seek care. The platform also provides patients with access to care all day from their mobile device or computer. The company continues to build virtual care service with a commitment to deliver high-quality care when and where patients need it at costs they can afford. MinuteClinic delivers people an innovative, on-demand healthcare option from their computer or cell phone.
MinuteClinic Video Visits offer care for patients who seek treatment for a minor injury, minor illness, or a skin condition. Treatment is initiated via a computer or mobile device or CVS Pharmacy app. Patients who choose to seek care through a MinuteClinic Video Visit can experience the same high-quality, evidence-based care they get at standard MinuteClinic locations inside select CVS Pharmacy and Target stores. Patients just have to complete a health questionnaire and be matched to a board-certified health care provider licensed in their state while requesting a video visit.
Before the start of the video visit, the care provider will review the questionnaire together with the patient's medical history. The provider analyzes the patient's condition and decides the appropriate course of treatment while following evidence-based clinical care guidelines. The provider also submits the prescription to the patient's preferred pharmacy, necessitating prescription as part of their treatment plan. Patients who require primary care will be suggested consultation as needed. MinuteClinic Video Visits are made feasible through collaborative work with Teladoc, a global leader in virtual care, and by harnessing Teladoc's tech platform.
