Each Gated user may choose a validated 501(c)3 organization and a minimum donation amount to reach their mailbox.
Fremont, CA: Gated, the first startup founded to combat digital overload in emails, releases their software and raised $3.3 million in venture investment. Corazon Capital led the fundraising round, with participation from Precursor Ventures, Burst Capital, Tuesday Capital, other early-stage funds, and leading GTM angles. By forcing unknown senders to give a foundation in reaching a user, Gated decreases inbox congestion by 43 percent on average. As a result, overwhelmed business executives now have a simple, free solution for keeping their inbox clean and productive, all while positively influencing the globe.
"In a world where marketers send millions of automated emails with a button, Gated gives individuals the power to control who can reach them," said Andy Mowat, CEO and Founder of Gated. "In our always-on, always-connected world, attention is invaluable. We believe this simple, free solution will transform the productivity of anyone struggling with digital overload."

Gated operates by setting up a separate folder in any Google-based email account to reroute emails from unknown senders and keep them out of their inbox. The program generates a list of permitted senders based on who users already have corresponded with. For example, unknown senders can only reach a user's inbox if they make a gift to that person's preferred cause. Gated never examines the contents of any communication, and users always retain control and visibility over their emails.
Gated is not just lowering mailbox congestion, but it also makes this world a better place. Each Gated user may choose a validated 501(c)3 organization and a minimum donation amount to reach their mailbox. When an anonymous sender donates, a 70percent of the money goes to the designated cause. The remainder is used to keep Gated running as a free offer. By using Gated, users are assisting a reason they believe in while also making email easier - for all.
