FreePoint Technologies has introduced an API that enables outside resources to connect with the ShiftWorx platform. The application programming interface enables clients to access services outside the domain of user-interface.
FREMONT, CA:FreePoint Technologies, a designer of products for the manufacturing industry that enables more informed decision making, has launched an application programming interface (API) that allows connecting to its ShiftWorx platform. FreePoint’s API has been created to support applications and internal development without a front-end. In addition, the interface enables users to connect with their data while constructing their solution.
ShiftWorx is FreePoint’s cloud-based platform for all applications that allow the monitoring and analysis of production and operations data through programs such as Narrative and WatchLive. ShiftWorx empowers manufacturers to analyze, measure, and share production information within the cloud.
“After deploying FreePoint ShiftWorx, relevant staff could access minute-by-minute updates of shop floor productivity. In addition, when a problem arises, immediate action helps to review and address the issue. With ShiftWorx, machine operators experience better engagement in the tasks after understanding the connection between their work and the impact on production performance,” highlighted John Traynor, Senior Vice President, FreePoint.
ShiftWorx works in combination with FreePoint’s machine monitoring hardware to visualize performance details in a simple and easy to use dashboard. ShiftWorx displays value-adding and non-value adding activities, inputs, KPIs, and is the first step to increasing productivity and engaging operators. With the help of the API within an ERP system, users can get processed data for machines and inputs as well as generate personalized KPI’s, metrics for organizations, and obtain information about the corporate structure.
“With minimal to no infrastructure intrusion, FreePoint is ideal for new and sophisticated equipment while being an easy retrofit for conventional equipment,” commented Traynor. FreePoint has also developed software and hardware intending to connect any manufacturing equipment, from legacy up to brand new machinery. By implementing a single set of hardware, FreePoint’s technology can connect nearly all machines found in a manufacturing space, including computer numerical control (CNC) machines, injection molders, lathes, and assembly stations.
