Flexport's Chief Executive Officer Will Be Dave Clark

Ryan Petersen, the company's founder, will take on a new role as Executive Chairman in March 2023.
Fremont, CA: Flexport is a worldwide logistics platform that provides buyers, sellers, and their distribution partners with the technologies and services they need to grow and innovate. Flexport technology was used by businesses of all sizes, from new companies to Fortune 500s, to transport almost 19 billion dollars in merchandise across 112 countries in 2021. Flexport was awarded #1 on CNBC's Disruptor 50 List and one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies in 2022.
Flexport launched Dave Clark as CEO and joined the company's board of directors on September 1, 2022. Flexport's creator and current CEO, Ryan Petersen, will serve as co-CEO for six months following Clark's appointment to facilitate a smooth transition. Petersen will become Executive Chairman in March 2023, focusing on the company's long-term strategic plan.

Clark has over two decades of experience in global commerce and logistics leadership. He joined Amazon in 1999 and helped turn the firm from an online bookshop to one of the benchmarks in technology innovation and supply chain management. He is currently the CEO of Worldwide Consumer at Amazon.

Before becoming CEO of Amazon's Worldwide Consumer business, Clark held several high leadership positions at the company, including Senior Vice President Worldwide Operations, Vice President Global Customer Fulfillment, and Vice President North America Operations. Clark earned an MBA from the University of Tennessee and a Bachelor of Music Education from Auburn University.
Flexport was formed in 2003 with the goal of making global trade accessible to all. In 2021, the company's revenue was $3.3 billion, more than double its previous year's revenue, and it had its first EBIT positive year. It now employs almost 3500 people in 23 offices throughout the world. Flexport raised 935 million dollars in a Series E investment round led by Andreessen Horowitz and MSD Partners in February 2022, with continued support from DST Global and Founders Fund. Flexport's post-money valuation increased to more than $8 billion as a result of the transaction.
