The first connected app for law enforcement will livestream drone video, directly capturing the evidence in a secured system.
FREMONT, CA: The global leader in connected public safety technologies, Axon, launches a new drone piloting and livestreaming application that will enable law enforcement to livestream critical data directly into the company's digital evidence management solution, Axon Evidence. The innovative Axon Air app facilitates law enforcement teams to stream drone footage to command staff and into Axon Evidence in near real-time. The data management feature will protect the data along with a chain of custody protocols that law enforcement agencies trust for body-worn, in-car, and in-room video systems.
"My favorite part about this product is how purpose-built it is for law enforcement. We listened to the concerns of hundreds of agencies and developed an effective tool that meets their needs. Our application takes complex technology like drones and makes it a simple solution for any agency," says Brandy M Shaffer, of Program Manager of Axon Air.
Axon partnered with a network of agencies for developing the app, comprising personalized piloting controls and settings — about 30 agencies are using it in the field. Drone technology is an important tool to keep a community safe and is used in regular patrol activities, overseeing SWAT operations from a higher altitude. The technology also helps in searching for the missing people, gaining critical insights into traffic scenes, and city planning efforts. Axon Air is Axon's set of software solutions for unmanned aircraft use in public safety. Harnessing the Axon Evidence platform, the Axon Air gives public safety agencies another tool to improve officer and community safety.
