Disney Appoints Diane Jurgens as Chief Information Officer

Jurgens holds an MBA from Seattle University. She also has an M.S. and B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington.
Fremont, CA: Disney has brought on Diane Jurgens as its new Chief Information Officer. The announcement was made by Christine M. McCarthy, Senior Executive Vice President, and Chief Financial Officer. Jurgens will be reporting to McCarthy.
“Diane is a proven global technology leader with strategic vision, and her talents will be a great asset to the Company as our businesses and industry continue to evolve,” said Ms. McCarthy. “Her breadth of experience in driving technology and innovation on a worldwide scale make Diane the right choice for this role, and I am very excited to welcome her to my team.”
In her role as Chief Information Officer, Jurgens will oversee Disney’s global Enterprise Technology organization, which includes enterprise business systems, infrastructure, workforce enablement, and enterprise resilience engineering. With this oversight, she will also be responsible for planning, prioritizing, implementing, and operations of Disney IT systems and infrastructure throughout Disney in support of its corporate business operations. All this will be done to make sure of their strategic relevance and also their operational effectiveness.

Jurgens was recently the Chief Technology Officer for BHP. This company is a multinational mining, metals, and petroleum company. She led capital program delivery, technology operations, cybersecurity, data privacy, digital strategy, and research and development. She has spent her entire career working as a technologist and leader. Throughout her career, she has held numerous senior executive positions in multiple industries and was the President and Managing Director of Shanghai OnStar Telematics Company, Vice President and Chief Information Officer for General Motors’ international operations, and also an executive at The Boeing Company.
