Congatec is expanding into the Arm processor sector while incorporating Texas Instruments (TI) processors.

An embedded and edge computing technology company, Congatec, reveals its portfolio's expansion and includes Texas Instruments (TI) processors. As the first solution platform, the conga-STDA4 is a SMARC Computer-on-Module with an Arm Cortex-based TDA4VM processor. The TDA4VM processor incorporates an accelerated vision and AI processing, real-time control, and functional safety capabilities through a system-on-chip architecture. Modules based on Dual Arm Cortex-A72 are advantageous for industrial mobile machines that require near-field analytics, such as automated guided vehicles and autonomous mobile robots.

Artificial intelligence processors at the edge are useful for any vision-focused industrial or medical applications. Designers in various embedded industries can concentrate on their core competencies rather than the design-in process by integrating the powerful TI TDA4VM processor into a standardized Computer-on-Module. Companies can save on up-front costs and shorten the time to market compared to fully customized designs, especially if they produce fewer units.
