FREMONT, CA: Brook Venture Partners, a private equity firm, recently announced the sale of its 30 percent stake in Onboard Security Inc., a leading developer of modern security technologies for IoT, automotive, and computing markets. Brook makes growth equity control investments in healthcare information technology, marketing technology, and other technology service companies.
In 2009, Security Innovation (SI) acquired NTRU Cryptosystems and utilized its assets to form the SI embedded security division. In early 2018, OnBoard Security was spun out from SI. The partnership enabled OnBoard to refocus its mission and expand the board of directors to include leaders from the automotive and semiconductor industries.
Over the years, OnBoard provided security solutions for computing, advanced cryptography, and vehicle-to-vehicle. Brook’s investment assisted the company in increasing its engineering staff, upgrading its Aerolink V2V security software, and developing secure computing products to enhance the TrueSentinel TSS 2.0. OnBoard, backed by Brook Venture Partners, has invested heavily on solidifying their position in securing the internet of things (IoT) market. As a result, the company strengthened its foothold in connected vehicle security, embedded platforms, and internet integrity.
