Robots and automation have found firm grounds in the manufacturing industry. With the advent of artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT), the growth of the industry has paced well. Robots with AI and IoT incorporated in them are witnessing rapid growth as their capabilities result in better ROI. Automation is taking over manual wherever possible as a result it is being assumed that sooner or later humans would lose their jobs. Developing new software, updating the modules, and with IoT, data analytics is also a new verse for humans to operate in. Manufacturers will have to understand requirements and strategize a workflow that could bring a tandem between humans and machines to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity.
Automation is evident to drive the manufacturing industries in future, it’s the job of organizations to ensure movement of their manual workforce to new areas and utilize them by providing proper training. Also, ensuring worker and plant safety is essential as there have been incidents where robots have become a threat. There is a need to maintain a balance between machines and humans, also decide to what extent the machines need to be deployed for the same.
