Asset-right Transportation and Asset-light Logistics with Roadrunner
The transportation field has become interesting due to the emergence of diverse technologies. Many automobile innovations help the transport drivers to get the best experience. Before investing in the transportation system, one needs to know the exact happenings in the current sector. Many transportation companies have achieved success within a short period due to relevant strategies.
Roadrunner Transportation Systems is a transportation and logistics company that helps customers to carry their goods more safely. In the U.S., all major metro markets need the help of Roadrunner’s trucks with its extremely dedicated team; the company has earned the customers’ trust within a short period. It has around 20 businesses prevailing in its portfolio and expanding its transportation and logistics aspects.
Roadrunner Transportation Systems provides intermodal solutions that help the transportation companies to transport temperature-sensitive products with care. The company has had many achievements. In 2017, Roadrunner Transportation Systems was awarded the Global Automotive Leader award and LTL career of the year awards. The company recently announced the appointment of Michael Rapken as its chief information officer. He will be responsible for the ongoing improvement and the integration of systems involved in the IT. Before Rapken’s new position, he had served as the chief technology officer at Press Ganey.
“We are pleased to have Michael Rapken as our CIO leading our team of IT professionals and technology strategies so we can continue driving enhancements across our business,” said Curt Stoelting, CEO of Roadrunner Transportation Systems. Rapken’s experience in the transportation and logistics industry will enable him to lead RoadRunner Transportation’s IT team.
The company has merged with Dawes Transport in order to form the Roadrunner Dawes Freight Systems, Inc. In addition, Roadrunner Freight has been listed as the top 100-truck company list by Inbound Logistics. The list is based on the fleet size, the number of drivers, service capabilities, and areas of expertise. At the 20th Annual World Excellence Awards, Ford honored Roadrunner with the elite award.
