The most significant benefit of magnetic field therapy is that it is inherently noninvasive. Magnetic healing with therapeutic magnets or a magnetic bracelet is often less disruptive than conventional treatments
Fremont, CA: Magnetic therapy is a developing field of medicine that uses the power of magnets to provide effective treatment. While the latest research is very new, magnets have been used in medicine for millennia. More than 2,000 years ago, Asian and European folk healers believed that magnets could actively pull impurities as well as diseases from the body.
Key magnetic therapy benefits:
Cancer
A mouse study discovered that magnetic therapy may help to reduce cancer cells. When mice were exposed to magnetic fields after being injected with cancer cells, the tumor size was reduced. The magnet exposure inhibited tumor growth and caused cancer cell death through apoptosis, though the exact mechanism by which the magnets reduced cancer cells is still unknown.
Other research suggests that magnetic nanoparticles could be used in hyperthermia therapy. High temperatures are used in hyperthermia therapy to destroy abnormal tissue while leaving healthy tissue intact. Magnetic nanoparticles can be injected into tumors and activated with alternating magnetic fields by clinicians. This causes the nanoparticles to heat up and damage the cancerous tissue.
The most significant benefit of magnetic field therapy is that it is inherently noninvasive. Magnetic healing with therapeutic magnets or a magnetic bracelet is often less disruptive than conventional treatments. This decreases the possibility of complications from surgery, resulting in a shorter recovery period. Patients need to consult their doctors to see if magnetic therapy is appropriate for them.
Depression
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a well-established treatment for depression. Utilizing magnetic fields, the procedure stimulates nerve cells in the brain, which enhances depression symptoms. Magnetic therapy products have proven to be especially effective in those who have not responded to medication or other traditional treatments for depression.
