In an interview with CIO Applications, Michael Herrera, CEO of MHA , provides us insights into the company, challenges existing in the present market, and how MHA addresses them.
What are the challenges in the market, and how does MHA Consulting help clients address them?
The Covid-19 pandemic has drastically impacted the business world. Organizations—be it an SMB or a large enterprise—have realized that business continuity planning is no longer a ‘nice-to-have’ strategy but a necessity. It must become a part of everyday business operations.
Unfortunately, even today, the business continuity plans of many companies are not up to the mark. It often happens due to a lack of understanding of the methodologies that need to be applied for having success in the long run. Also, there cannot be a one-size-fits-all to business continuity. The success of the business continuity process is dependent on the size of an organization, its areas of operation, and most importantly, culture. Many businesses fail to realize this and consequently struggle to progress on their desired path.
At MHA, we take business continuity consultancy to the next level. We have extensive experience in this field and undertake a pragmatic approach to delineate the proper business continuity roadmap for clients. More importantly, our team has worked with businesses from multiple verticals—including healthcare, automotive, construction, financial, consumer, to name a few.We understand the critical nuances of each industry and ensure costefficiency. Our reputation is spotless.
The first one is the healthcare sector. The industry has undergone a drastic change over the last few years due to mergers and acquisitions. There are now very large healthcare systems with little to no business continuity.
Additionally, one of their biggest challenge is ransomware attacks that adversely impact their capability to ensure patient safety and care. These organizations need to have the right planning to be quickly operational during any sort of unprecedented incident.
Another is companies needing to require their critical suppliers to have comprehensive business continuity planning. Companies must ensure continuity across their supplier landscape.

Would you like to shed some light on the work culture at MHA Consulting?
As the CEO of the organization, I ensure that we use a very consistent methodology and approach. We follow all the industry standards, guidelines, and practices. What does the future hold for our company?
We have been profitable for the last 23 years, and we are growing every year. In the coming days, our goal is to be on the growth trajectory and expand internationally in other continents where business continuity planning is becoming important, such as Bahrain, UAE and Africa. We are also working on technology front as well to help clients achieve all their goals.
