Thank you for Subscribing to CIO Applications Weekly Brief
In a recent interview with CIO Applications’ editorial team, Neil Mistry, Founder and CEO at MIS3, discusses at length about their robust capabilities and services and how they leverage their in-depth industry knowledge and technical expertise to handhold companies on the path to secure digital transformation.
Could you give us a brief overview of your company?
MIS3 Inc helps clients REIMAGE THEIR BUSINESS, this is our latest slogan and value to the market.
Our mantra is business transformation through IT modernization. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, I have built this mantra based on my first-hand experiences. In today’s digital era, numerous companies, including governments, are readily revamping their business processes, as well as culture, to keep pace with business transformation. In this quest, IT modernization undoubtedly plays a crucial part as legacy technologies often miss the mark in enabling businesses to innovate. Our focus is on helping organizations understand how they can reimagine their business and educating them on the shortcomings of legacy technologies to enable them to transform digitally and securely. We guide them to embrace new and emerging digital technologies that are disruptive, cost-effective, as well as simple to operate and secure. By taking the complexity out of organizations and driving down costs, we help them create new or modify existing business processes alongside improving customer experiences to meet changing business and market requirements.
How does your company address the needs of secure digital transformation?
We believe digital transformation is about business transformation, wherein organizations first need to address the four business pillars of transformation and create objectives before investing in the technology and building an IT modernization strategy. The first pillar is focused on understanding the customers or from the perspective of government, understanding the citizens, and engaging with them by answering questions on business transformation. The next one is about empowering the employees to keep up with the new workforce dynamics, enabling them to access applications, data, and effectively collaborate from home.
Our mantra is business transformation through IT modernization
Through our mantra, we have solidified our brand as a secure digital transformation leader. We have built over 50 revenue strategies that feed our overall theme of business transformation. These revenue streams include consulting for both business and technology, as well as providing the technology to help the customer answer those four key questions. We are one of the key partners offering about half of those new and emerging technologies in Canada.
Could you elaborate on the key services you offer and how they assist organizations in their transformation journey effectively?
We help companies understand and adopt a digital transformation and IT modernization framework that’s focused on business outcomes, supported by new and emerging next-generation technologies around infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT operations. We also have a DevOps practice, and we focus on open source platforms, cloud technologies, as well as cloud security. Our IT modernization framework, built on a proprietary five-step methodology, is driven by an application-centric philosophy. This of particular importance today as all our customers, including local governments across the world, are trying to adopt and execute on the new IT service delivery model that is built on an application-focused methodology.
Today, business applications not only reside on-premise but also exist in the form of SaaS, IaaS, or PaaS, as well as on-premise. The ‘3’ in MIS3 specifically represents the aspect of driving applications around these three main categories of cloud computing. Companies are struggling to figure out an effective way to leverage SaaS and public cloud while continuing to deliver applications on-premise with governance and visibility at the core. Our IT modernization framework enables organizations of all sizes to embrace, adopt, and execute against the new IT service delivery model to meet their corporate business objectives for the future. Our next-gen technologies support that framework, modernization strategy, as well as enablement for a business to adopt the new IT service delivery model.
Could you provide us with a case study?
An apt example would be one of our biggest clients, MPAC, an Ontario-based company that conducts property assessments for residential and commercial properties. They needed to engage with their customers in a better way as their method of conducting assessments was very slow. The SLA was unsatisfactory, and the data at their disposal was not accurate. Moreover, the application that they were using to drive these assessments, as well as engage with their customers, failed to deliver an enhanced client experience.
We helped them rebuild the application on a public cloud in a more cost-effective way, underpinned by a governance-first strategy. With our thought leadership, they were able to adopt a non-traditional approach in facilitating their business operations while implementing newer technologies to enhance the customer experience. Consequently, with more accurate assessments, meaningful data, reduced burden on IT operations, and increased focus on automation, they achieved faster business outcomes.
What has been the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the market, and what does the future hold for your company?
Given these unprecedented times, companies need to place a stronger emphasis on enabling employees to access applications and collaborate remotely and effectively in a secure way. We are perfectly poised to help them through this journey using an application-centric approach to IT modernization.
We have offices in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Toronto. To keep pace with growing demands for IT modernization, we’ve expedited some of the projects in our pipeline and have expanded our footprint to Ottawa, New York, and California. We are also looking to increase our market presence by establishing our footprint in the UK and Mexico. From an industry vertical perspective, we plan to extend our service to the oil and gas industry.
