What are the challenges impeding the modern supply chain?

There is no denying modern-day manufacturers struggle to balance the pole between the total cost of procurement and the actual value of services due to a lack of infrastructure to validate data from different systems of record. This makes it hard for them to trust the information from business partners, as the question regarding the integrity of data remains largely unanswered. Most manufacturers find themselves struggling to make informed decisions despite the help of best-in-class BI tools.

Another set of challenges come from archaic business processes. Despite the emergence of cloud-based solutions, companies still depend on lengthy email chains, endless spreadsheets, and long-drawn manual analyses to identify the root causes of service failures and supply chain inefficiencies. One of our clients, a Fortune 500 CPG shipper that manufactures cleaning products, approached ISO to help uncover better ways to reduce operational costs while streamlining internal and external supply chain operations. Our platform enabled them to accurately measure performance across different transportation partners via a single lens, and our collaborative performance management workflow solution brought them significant value.

Over a year, they realized a reduced average OTIF penalty exposure by 31 percent. In addition, by proactively aligning with their transportation network, the shipper increased on-time delivery by 26 percent, demonstrating a commitment to service to their retailer partners.
