Patrick R. Hogan, CEOIn an interview with CIO Applications Patrick R. Hogan, the CEO of Celbridge Science, sheds light on some of the noteworthy trends within the industry, highlighting how the company supports its clients in incorporating AI into their daily work in a bid to provide improved healthcare to patients.
Could you provide us with an overview of your company?
Healthcare practitioners, just a few years back had to go through each report of their patients repeatedly before reaching a conclusion, taking away valuable time that could have been invested more productively. Since the day of inception, our company has been focused on making swift and accurate information available to clinicians and medical researchers, thereby enabling them to make critical healthcare decisions for their patients. We have always realized this goal by amalgamating AI and ML into the world of medical science successfully. By leveraging these one-of-a-kind technologies, we at Celbridge Science provide structured data to the users in the blink of an eye, which otherwise takes hours or even days through conventional means. Our company, in lieu of such capabilities, has been able to take unique position in this domain and assist healthcare practitioners to provide better healthcare along with spreading a positive impact across the globe.
While engaging with your clients what sense do you get of the challenges they face and how does your company address them?
In a world that requires instant results, AI and ML have been a huge sigh of relief for the ones that have optimally incorporated them into the workflows. With their continued usage over the years, the capabilities of the technologies have improved significantly too. However, this has brought forward some hurdles as users need to constantly revamp these technologies to keep them up-to-date with the current trends. Healthcare market too nowadays require improved features and functionalities attuned to the latest scenarios in the form of advanced algorithms, better decision-making capabilities and the like. Celbridge’s focus has always been to deliver a high return on investment and tremendous success to its clients as early as possible through its offerings
The effectiveness of AI in eliminating monotonous tasks has been well documented. In the healthcare field, analyzing patient data in bulk while identifying any chronic conditions or health concerns can sometimes be cumbersome for the healthcare practitioners or researchers. AI holds the key in unlocking exponential results through its ability to ingest and process massive amounts of data. Through its self-learning capabilities, it can also detect underlying issues that can have significant impact on a patient’s health in the future.
Could you provide us with a brief understanding of some of your offerings? How do they benefit your clients?
Our company excels in tailoring tools such as custom predictive models and pre-trained ML models with advanced AI capabilities and insights that can analyze complicated datasets, aimed at solving tedious task, for instance, forecasting and performing complex calculations. As our tools are developed swiftly, the tasks that usually take months, and on certain occasions, years to accomplish can be completed within a significantly less amount of time. Celbridge’s focus has always been to deliver a high return on investment and tremendous success to its clients as early as possible through its offerings. This mission has molded the company into a pioneer in this space and also a major driving force for innumerable organizations in the increased adoption of AI and ML.
Is there a particular approach or strategy employed by Celbridge Science that helps the company stay ahead in market competition?
Our strategy in creating bespoke AI tools always begins with determining the expectations that the clients have, the outcomes they want to achieve, and the efforts they are willing to make in achieving the expected results. With those insights in place, we can create an algorithm that can analyze the health information of a patient, incorporate different levels of co-morbidity, and train that algorithm to identify all the different needs of a patient. Celbridge takes its offerings one step forward by integrating these tools into the IT framework of the client, thereby making them a well-oiled information sharing system that clinicians can access to provide improved care.
Tell us about a few engagements with clients and how your company helped them meet varied requirements.
We had a successful collaboration with a healthcare organization specially catering to the veterans of U.S Armed Forces whose objective was to streamline a veteran’s transition from service to a productive member of the society. The organization required a proficient AL and ML analytics partner that could deliver AI-infused tools capable of identifying veterans’ health issues, allowing the clinicians to provide best care possible. To achieve that goal, Celbridge Science compiled a database containing data of millions of veterans and identified any comorbidities or conditions that they are facing or likely to face. We also designed an AI disease prognostic tool that facilitates preventive care to the patients before conditions such as depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) become chronic. To identify such veterans without any delay, we trained our tool through ML to diagnose those conditions. Post that, we focused on integrating the patient database and the tool service with the client’s electronic health records and also provided a clinical delivery mechanism that shared the data to the clinicians. With the entire solution in hand, clinicians could access the required information pertaining to their patients instantly and were able to offer improved healthcare services to the veterans.
What does the future hold for Celbridge Science?
The call for AI in healthcare is increasing year-on-year and we are looking to enhancing our offerings accordingly. To further our goal of delivering improved healthcare services, we will continue to align ourselves with partners who share the same vision by assisting them in the research of new drugs or better delivery of clinical care.
