Could you give a brief overview of Cavern Technologies?
Cavern Technologies’ next generation data center is the top choice for CIOs and CTOs for a secure colocation that enables the hybrid-IT strategy for their enterprise business. Although a major share of our business comes from Kansas City, we have customers that span across the US. Generally, we serve large enterprise clients working in financial services, healthcare, and technology. We began our journey in 2007 with a couple of customers in the Kansas City area and later we grew our business with 110 customers.
Sean Khurana, COOWhat differentiates Cavern Technologies from its competitors?
We make use of a specialized underground facility, which is 125 feet below the ground. The facility is located in limestone caves that were purposefully excavated for future development. The limestone creates a strong, naturally secure environment for our datacenter colocation facility, which is three times stronger than typical concrete structures. For that reason, we can offer a structurally stable and secure site tolerant to any weather conditions, including tornadoes, and ice storms.
In terms of operational excellence, our focus on infrastructure and operational maintenance provides 100 percent uptime with no outages
What are some of the services that you offer customers?
Network connectivity is a concern for many colocation customers. For that reason, we allow our clients to choose from 11 different carriers that best fits their business needs. We are augmenting our carrier capacity by adding two more carriers. With that, we provide secure and redundant connectivity to our 110 customers. In addition to that, we offer cloud connectivity solutions through a platform called Megaport, which is an Australian company. By partnering with them, we provide cloud connectivity solutions through SDN networks. We also provide ISP solution to our customers, which is a popular solution for our customers that comes with DDoS protection.
What would you say is your calling card in the data center market?
In terms of operational excellence, our focus on infrastructure and operational maintenance provides 100 percent uptime with no outages. Our approach that focuses on system, people, and process allow us to maintain extraordinary levels of operation excellence. We have developed unique standard procedures, emergency procedures, and operating procedures for any special work related to our offerings. As an organization, we understand that the people behind this process are equally important. For that reason, we have hired best-in-class staff capable of maintaining a strict operational code within our company.
