BOGEN Electronic has been recognized by CIO Applications Magazine as the exclusive recipient of “Top 10 Robotics Technology Companies - 2017,” based on our proprietary methodology, reflecting its position in the industry, and is also named among “,” reflecting its broader leadership. This profile has been developed by the CIO Applications research and editorial team based on insights from an interview with Torsten Becker, CEO.
Torsten Becker, CEOThe company offers a plethora of incremental encoders that possess high accuracy and are customizable in many ways such that they fit various requirements of the Robot Designers. The size of the magnetic encoders always plays a significant role in its working and BOGEN offers some of the smallest encoders in the market that can be integrated into even the most minuscule of robots.

Innovation and development go hand in hand with BOGEN; the firm is unique in its approach towards magnetic encoding and is aimed at changing the pole pitch of magnetic encoders drastically. BOGEN constitutes the technology that is capable of producing magnetic encoders that have pole pitches of just 80 microns where conventional magnetic encoders have pole pitches in the range of 1-2 mm. This is a monumental rise from an accuracy perspective.
BOGEN has always been a client-centric company providing ample support to its clients and values customer relationships. One such client in the robotic sector had approached BOGEN in search for a highly accurate and cost-efficient solution. “After collaborating with the client, we developed new production equipment, which was both high volume and low cost that was able to satisfy the required accuracies,” adds Becker. Furthermore, the company helped another client, which wanted a highly accurate absolute encoder in a small package. BOGEN successfully created an encoder with a customized output protocol in less than six months and helped the client to generate a product that fulfills their exact requirement.
BOGEN aims to assist the Robotics sector in developing low cost and accurate robots by creating highly customized magnetic measurement solutions that boost the overall working of robots. The company works extensively with many major Robot companies to develop a multitude of measurement solutions including applications in service robots, medical robots, industrial robots, and collaborative robots. Additionally, the company looks to expand its footprint across the globe and has the vision to infuse smaller steps to magnetic encoding to achieve a giant leap to the Robotics sector: To accelerate the transition from optical measurement solutions to magnetic measurement solutions. Safety and security are also two main concerns in the Robotics industry that BOGEN aims to tackle in the future.
