What are some of the challenges faced by your clients?
Many SMBs in the construction space do not have a traditional organizational structure, as most employees have different sites to cover on a given day. For example, the companies might have 20 different sites with different project leaders to supervise foremen, who in turn oversee the staff on the site. Apart from a dedicated applicant tracking system (ATS), we offer numerous solutions for onboarding, ACA Compliance, and HR management, among others. Our onboarding solution helps a new employee learn about the company through videos and other learning material. It ensures all the necessary administrative paperwork is dealt with before the employee even starts working. Our HR management software ‘Core HR’ acts as the central employee database, allowing the company to manage benefits, payroll, and ACA compliance better. With the addition of two sister companies, ExakTime and InfinityHR, we now have a time-tracking solution so the laborers can punch in using their mobile device and log their attendance.

Alongside that, we aid clients in employee training to meet the necessary regulatory compliance—inclusive of employee behavior and conduct—of the jurisdictions they operate in. We also offer performance management that allows users to conduct performance reviews.
Share with us a case study where you helped one of your customers overcome their challenges.
A federal contractor had hired and onboarded over 300 people across multiple geographic locations in four years through direct hiring and company acquisitions. They assembled skilled and experienced workforces all the way from executives to field level employees, and they were looking for a system that would help transition to an automated system to onboard the entire workforce efficiently. Besides, it would cost them up to $15,000 when they had to hire the right candidate, especially those in executive positions. They were looking to streamline their hiring process while reducing costs. For this, they licensed our ATS, onboarding solution, and Fastrack recruiting service. Leveraging these software modules and the service, they were able to reduce cost by more than $100,000 as they could eliminate the need for external recruitment (and the extended time required to get those applicants onboard.) In another instance, we have also been able to retain one of our oldest customers, a utility company. We did a lot of early development on our software by working in conjunction with them to help mitigate their challenges.
What are some of the key differentiating factors that help you surge ahead of your competitors?
We strongly focus on high compliance and high consequence industries such as the construction industry, and that has helped us to enhance the mobile capabilities of our offerings. Furthermore, there are very few competitors in the market that offer the breadth of solutions we do. To stay ahead of the competition, we listen to our customers during the sales process and understand their unique needs and the problems they are trying to solve. We also focus on our existing customers to ensure we meet the market demands and stay ahead of the curve.
What does the future have in store for BirdDogHR?
We plan to expand the functionality of the existing modules along with adding new modules. With the workforce becoming more mobile, we are trying to come up with more mobile enhancements for improved accessibility. Additionally, we are also looking to incorporate new technologies such as artificial intelligence that would help clients with their onboarding.
