Chris Wood, COO and PresidentIn an interview with CIO Applications, Chris Wood, President and COO of allsynx discusses in detail about the latest trends and emerging challenges in HR technology space and how allsynx is assisting clients with innovative solutions.
Please shed some light on the background of your company and how you have evolved as an independent organization to meet industry needs.
Although a GA/TPA, our parent company also offered an HR/benefits administration platform to clients, which led to confusion among carriers and clients. While TPAs and brokers would often consider us their competitors, carriers, on the other hand, would be perplexed about what services each client needed, and if they are paying for the right services. Since we have now reimagined ourselves as a technology organization in the HRIS marketplace, focusing just on HR/ benefits administration solutions, it has provided a clear distinction in our services and solutions. We are now exclusively focused on delivering these solutions equipping clients with an intuitive platform to enroll their employees for various insurance coverages as well as helping them with various HR tasks beyond open enrollment. Moreover, this has allowed carriers, TPAs, and brokers to understand how to specifically leverage allsynx, and brings clarity for our partners.
Our platforms have proved particularly beneficial for our clients during these trying times as COVID- 19-continues to burden people with tangible circumstances. Numerous employer groups still rely on manual processes for enrollment; however, with the pandemic defining new workplace dynamics and establishing remote working as the new norm, challenges continue to proliferate. How do these organizations enroll a 1000 or even 50 people group remotely? How do business administrators monitor wellness of employees and track team members in quarantine? Questions abound.
We put in years of effort to make our tools easy-to-use, such that employees can enroll themselves without being overwhelmed with options. We focus on one benefit at a time, ensure that employees understand their benefits, and enable them to enroll themselves without having to consult face-to-face with an enroller. This has definitely sharpened our competitive advantage this year.
Could you elaborate on the solution that you bring to the table and how it proves to be beneficial for clients?
We started with our benefits administration platform, “THEbenefitsHUB”, almost 15 years ago, and over time, it has matured to cater to the different needs of our clients.
We are now exclusively focused on delivering benefits administration and equipping clients with an intuitive platform to enroll their employees for various insurance coverages as well as helping them with different HR tasks along the way
Considering these factors, we designed our platform to support the enrollment for both large and small groups. With our “THEXpressHUB” system, small groups can be enrolled in as little as 72 hours through a different implementation route but can still enjoy the same benefits of our platform without having to incur huge costs. Instead of leveraging different platforms for different size customers, brokers can now manage an entire block of business on a single platform.
Could you talk about the onboarding process that you follow to get clients up and running with your platform?
When we engage with a client, we start off by defining a mission statement and then align with their needs. We communicate and iterate to successfully provide the services customers are truly seeking. By constantly making improvements to our platform, we make sure it is attuned to the needs of our clients and is simple so they are faced with minimal technology hurdles.
In alignment with this strategy, we are passionate to educate group administrators and brokers on not just the usage of our platform but also on the industry as a whole. To that end, allsynx has launched “LEARNsynx”, the newly implemented training regimen for all THEbenefitsHUB users.
What does the future hold for allsynx?
We are constantly driven by innovation and are passionate about bringing users the solutions they need.
We have developed a health screening application, selected by the Texas Education Agency as an approved solution for Texas schools, that we are now providing to all industries across the US to screen employee wellness .safe synx allows employers the ability to maintain governmental compliance through documentation and reporting, provide required posting virtually, and much more using either a smartphone app or a web browser portal.
Also in present times, the industry is characterized by high job instability, and, as such, employees need insurance coverage more than ever. With that in mind, allsynx is preparing to roll out our virtual healthcare alternatives program that employees can leverage even after they exit an organization.
When it comes to smaller groups, the benefits administration processes are typically paper-based. With all the new hires and terminations, it is overwhelming for an administrator to get the right benefits to the right people. Leveraging our platform, brokers and administrators now have the option to conveniently present employee benefits to their clients, help them select the benefit packages for their employees, and enable employees to enroll seamlessly. They can also transfer all employee-related information to insurance carriers through our platform, thereby streamlining the entire benefits administration process. We also have simple and easy reporting tools built into our system, which employers can leverage and import into their payroll platforms.
We undergo different audits and consider security as the utmost priority. All our solutions and services are geared toward making the job of brokers, administrators, and employees easier in a secure way. Besides all the innovative solutions and premier services that we deliver, what truly acts as the foundation of our success is our people. You can have the best leadership in the world or even the greatest of ideas, but what makes an organization stand out is its employees. Our employees are innovative, relentless, and consistent, and are indeed the core strength of our company. We have left no stone unturned to support our employees to work remotely during this global crisis, and surprisingly, we have noticed an increase in our productivity as well.
allsynx, at the core, is nimble, agile, and at the same time, consistent. Our innovation is driven by a deep commitment to serving our clients better, and as we endeavor through these hard times, we look at furthering our commitment in the days to come.
