Silver Spring, MD based Aegis Project Controls’ primary focus is on assisting clients with top-notch project controls services and keeping mega construction projects on-time and budget. The company integrates Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, cost and risk management to provide a comprehensive overview of the health of these heavy-weight projects. “At Aegis, we’ve been lucky to work on many mega projects, and our approach has evolved as we’ve learnt about their unique characteristics,” remarks Hatwell.
One of Aegis’ first mega projects involved providing CPM scheduling for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) in Virginia. The agency stood 2.3 million square feet and is the third largest government building in the Washington area. Currently, Aegis is working on the first national museum dedicated to the African American history and culture and is built on the national mall, a stone’s throw away from the iconic Washington Monument. The company is contributing extensive project controls, including risk management services, CPM scheduling, and cost management to the project. “These two notable experiences, and many others, have taught us to acquire a novel approach to project controls,” explains Hatwell.
Recently, Aegis Project Controls released two new products—Aegis Analytics and Rubix to harness technology and improve efficiency in the construction industry.

Aegis Analytics improves executive management by allowing quick review of all projects in one place, and it quickly identifies the needed attention
Both Aegis Analytics and Rubix are the result of extensive work and research by Aegis Project Controls, and have been successfully tested by prestigious clients to ensure their effectiveness.
Aegis Analytics is a cloud-based dashboard that tracks the real-time status of multiple projects by connecting to live Primavera schedule databases— comprehensive project management software on cloud. “Aegis Analytics improves executive management by allowing quick review of all projects in one place, and it quickly identifies the needed attention,” affirms Hatwell. “Its real-time, online dashboard connects directly into project schedules to give executives valuable metrics on the health of construction projects at one time.”
Rubix is a three-pronged tool that compares schedules, assesses their health, and checks for compliance. “Rubix maximizes efficiency by checking for compliance with federal specifications and provides in-house schedulers with detailed feedback on the schedule’s health and compares multiple project schedules for changes,” says Hatwell.
The two new releases join Aegis Project Controls’ current product, Aegis Cloud to create a suite of technology solutions that ease the process of scheduling and managing large construction projects. Aegis Cloud is a state-of-the-art data center for application cloud solutions that simplifies the use of Primavera.
Forging ahead, Aegis will continue to deliver its professional services and groundbreaking new technology products that position the company to assist its clients by addressing project controls needs. “Mega projects, once unimaginable, are here to stay,” concludes Hatwell. “We are constantly innovating to provide the highest quality of services for these complex and fascinating projects.”
