In the recently concluded IBM InterConnect event, the Big Blue and its technology partners outlined a changing world of businesses led by technology, and their role in this transformation. IBM displayed how cloud is not an option anymore, but a mandatory requirement that can leverage cognitive, analytic and mobile technologies to help businesses access data troves for crucial business insights. Similarly, IBM places mobility at the heart of an organization's digital strategy; APIs to play a crucial role in building interconnected business environment; and intelligent cybersecurity aimed at quelling cyber threats. To this end, the tech giant announced its partnership with VMWare, Bitly, Gigster, GitHub; its work with Apple's Swift interactive programming language; Watson APIs; and its new interesting platform BlueMix OpenWhisk. The company's Bluemix OpenWhisk is an open-source system for coding event-driven apps that will allow developers build automated responses to events governed by predetermined conditions. By allowing users open access to Bluemix OpenWhisk code, which is made available on GitHub, IBM wants to inspire greater level of developer collaboration. Also, IBM wants to be the leading proponent of cognitive technologies that can stop diseases before symptoms surface, help students learn in a style that is most feasible to them, and help businesses understand their customers better. IBM says that Watson, with its ability to understand, reason, and learn will play a crucial role in this. The company also believes that Watson is a step forward to cognitive computing, where apps, systems, and the users will be bond through natural languages, helping discover the world the way it is. While IBM innovates the ways to transform businesses and lives, there are many companies partnering with the tech giant to bring these innovations to the fore.
