In this interview, Hector Garcia, Co-founder & CEO, and Elisa Garcia Barragan, Co-founder & COO, share some insights about the organization’s NetSuite expertise, their unique value proposition, and their roadmap for the future.
Could you provide the background of your organization?
Hector: In 2006, Elisa and I founded Netsoft. We had an experience of around 10 years in the sale, implementation and ongoing maintenance of traditional, premises-based ERP systems. However, soon we began to realize that the cost of those systems, the implementation time and the lag time from the initial system purchase to full production were frustrating for the customers. The old systems were not providing desired productivity level to our customers. So we analyzed and thought that there has to be a better way to work with and we started to look for pure internet ERP solution. This led us to NetSuite which offered a cloud-based ERP solution. We also found that besides being an ERP solution, it has E-commerce and CRM integrated into it, which allows businesses to automate critical business processes, like accounting, administration, finance, reports, inventories, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchases, sales, and many more. That finding also led us to run our company entirely on NetSuite.
We have offices in Mexico City, Panama and in Colombia. Also we are a member of the Consultative Council for the Americas of NetSuite (Business Partners Advisory Council).
What do you think are some of the major challenges that the companies are facing today in the market?
Elisa: With time, the requirements of companies, especially mid-size and small companies have changed. Now, they required to have all the information and the tools that big companies have. At the same time, flexibility and quick response towards the customers are also expected. The companies have to be more prepared, and they require a system that can work by itself and can keep upgrading. So one of the things that they need to change urgently is their business system. Today, companies need to be updated with new systems in the cloud that can be accessed anytime, anywhere. We know the better way that will help them achieve their business objectives by moving from premises-based offerings to a cloud-based ERP solution.

Who are your typical customers? Which are the industries you are catering to currently?
Hector: Basically, we have an array of customers. Currently, our solutions are catering to manufacturers, retail, automotive, distribution, agro-industry and professional services. Earlier, there was some distinction in which some technologies were only for large companies while some were for small or medium size ones. But with NetSuite, things have changed; it’s more like democracy now.
NetSuite is a subscription-based solution that gives freedom to every type of business to buy only what they need at a given point in time. As companies grow, they can add the NetSuite services they require. We’ve found that this subscription-based model typically costs customers about a quarter of what traditional, premises-based models cost. That’s a compelling value proposition.
How the track record has been for Netsoft and what does the future holds for your organization?
Elisa: Well if we talk about the growth that we have accomplished, we started with just 25 persons, and now we have 125 persons working with us. We have the potential to grow. Also, we’re taking advantage of all these new millennium people that are hopping on with us, making them up to speed on how to implement, or develop, or support a product. So we have come a long way, and the most important thing here is that we feel that we have just begun at this moment.
Hector: In terms of future roadmap, right now NetSuite is a tremendous opportunity to benefit from as new companies are interested in investing in NetSuite. All companies are moving to cloud systems, and so we are going to take advantage of this growth. We’re finding that almost 50 percent of our new customers come to us as referrals from existing customers. Our partnership with NetSuite is solid at this moment. It has exceeded our expectations. So we hope to become more sophisticated and faster while implementing NetSuite solutions.
