Super Bowl Upgrades its Network Surveillance Quality
FREMONT, CA: Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile - telecommunication companies have joined forces in a consortium to improve the cellular network quality inside Levi’s Stadium at Santa Clara, for the upcoming Super Bowl events. Verizon Communication, a reliable wireless network operator across America with more than 112 million retail connections nationwide will be majorly involved in increasing its network surveillance across the stadium.
Verizon has placed 75 small cells in the Bay Area for Super Bowl events. These small cellular towers are largely hidden from view, and sits behind the traffic signs and inside magazine kiosks. The company has also added 10 traditional cellphone towers in San Francisco inks Ina Fried for re/code. Verizon allows engineers to analyze network performance throughout the Bay Area and also has screens in Santa Clara as well as San Francisco which shows recent activities inside the Levi’s stadium. The firm’s second testing unit works on monitoring the physical condition of gear to dispatch repair crews.
On the other hand, AT&T has also extended its support to Levi’s Stadium along with its war room, where employees will be monitoring the network. AT&T is the provider of advanced mobile services, technology and high speed Internet services for business. The company updated its six new call sites around the stadium including nine eminent Cell-On-Wheels (COWs) that cover areas like Super Bowl city, Levi’s parking zone and other gaming sites. “On game day, when most people are sitting on a couch, or the lucky ones are in the stadium, we are going to have folks in the bowels of the stadium,” says John Cooke, VP, AT&T.
Whereas, T-Mobile contributes in its part with expandable distributed antenna systems and installed temporary sites. The company is providing reliable coverage in high traffic areas from lower bowl to the upper bowl and throughout the concourses. Sprint, an American telecommunication Company supplies wireless service globally, and has bought 11 COWs inside the Levi’s Stadium.
